On the morning of December 18, a week before Christmas, a woman showed up at Sharon Palmers Healthy Family Farms in Santa Paula, CA, wanting to purchase some goat cheesefor an upcoming holiday party, she said. What happened next was that Sharon found herself in serious trouble, though there are two versions of exactly how she got there...

Food Freedom!!!

Food nazis............
Is the sheriff of Ventura county elected? If so, perhaps we can find a candidate to opposed him.
Two questions spring to mind:
1. What developer wants her land?
2. Who did she not pay off?
I was probably about 9 years old before I had my first drink of pasteurized or processed milk. We were raised on raw milk and home made butter. Getting the first cold glass with all the cream laying on top was a real treat.
F***ing entrapment is her reward for trying to be nice to someone. Way to take down a big crime lord, Mother Government.
The local sheriff is actually a pretty good guy. But things like this happen occasionally and they need to be corrected. But don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.
A good read is Joel Salatin’s Everything I Want To Do Is Illegal. He correctly spanks both Dem and Repub on the oppresive rules against selling food to a neighbor. It’s on local and federal levels.
Glad CA has money for this kind of shit but is going hat in hand to the Feds to ask for my money as a resident of a different state. I've had it with these GD commies! Between this and the new lead regulations that are driving second-hand stores out of business, our gov't is truly becoming the enemy.
“.....I was probably about 9 years old before I had my first drink of pasteurized or processed milk....”
I was about 18. One has not lived until one has milked a cow and enjoyed fresh whole milk. My momma strained the milk through an old flour sack to remove hairs and other foreign matter.
Correct.
If I want to drink milk right from the cow or goat, and I have, what damn business is it for the government?....oh, yeah, the REAL DAIRY (Big Milk!) companies contribute to the right political campaigns to squash the little guys..........
L, they’re rapidly trying to push us past that awkward stage...
Yes, indeed, everything about the left is about controlling others.
Ironically, they say they are “liberal”, as in, “liberty loving”. It is the conservative that wants everyone to make their choices, and to individually experience the consequences of those choices, causing self regulation with no need of government.
Is the water boiling yet????
You vill Pastoorize the cheeze und you vill like it.
Funny you mention water. I bet there is absolutely no reason she can’t sell bottled water out of her well at $1 a pint and NO REQUIREMENTS FOR CLEANLINESS OR PURITY!...........
If he is a pretty good guy why did he allow his deputies to participate in this travesty?
Sometimes when I let my guard down,I feel like Taps is playing for the USA.
I’m about three years from retirement. I’m getting real worried!
Im 57,have quite a few friends in that boat. Are the good times really over.
Have you been planning for it?
No.Work till I die.Took my retirement at the start.Discharged in 73,took some time off to get my self squared away.Daughter in graduate school, son starts collage this fall.Miles to go before I sleep.
You have two choices...
1. Buy land outright and learn to plant what you eat..
2. Get measured for the blue wally world vest.
Arresting her was totally out of line. The story makes it sound like a set up. He (the sheriff) might be a good guy at a barbeque, but he is charge and probably had something to do with putting her in cuffs. I don’t have an opinion on the charges, just the nazi behavior of the sheriffs department, but the story still lacks details.
I feel for you. Both my kids graduated, did it on their own mostly. I helped a little but let them carry most of the load themselves.
This is the life I chose.Please.I do well!!!
Yes sir, you got it. State Capitalism at its finest.
Probably better than most. I have friends who have no plans other than social security.
you sound like my husband. 56, son junior in college, pre-med;
daughter a senior in high school, wife who has been stay at home for 20 years and though ready to return to work can’t find a job due to an increase here of unemployment to 8%.
Thank you ,I think!!!
Bet that agent feels really proud of herself. Had I been in that position, I'd have pulled out my cell phone and sweetly said, "Oh, let me take your as a satisfied customer." I'll bet the agent would have bolted from the scene. Roaches are afraid of the light.
Doesn't this make everything OK?
Don't we have to bow down and worship?
No, we should definitely stone her.
She should of said she was selling obama milk she would be free.
This is a real problem. Some goat farmers are selling shares in their animals to clients. This makes the transfer of milk “free”, to an owner.
When I was first married (back in the late 70s) we could still buy raw milk. I sometimes made my own butter from the cream. It was just kinda fun to do.
you are not alone. and you are what has made America great. should have finished my thought.
Check out FEDCOSEEDS.com.
Good prices, and most of it is open polinated non monsanto manipulated stuff.
Leans slightly to the left, but not in a idiodic stupid way, more of a former hippy way.
Some one locally sold shares, and ended up in deep doodoo.
Google DEE CREEK farm.

Ha ha ha . . . . oh say it aint so! Well at least Sharon has moved on to milking cows instead of milking unsuspecting elderly widows out of their life savings through mortgage scams!!
Sharon Palmer (Ross) was arrested a few years ago as she was trying to enter the U.S. at the San Ysidro border crossing with three Mexican nationals in the trunk of her car!!
She had fled to Mexico after scamming an elderly widow out of her $1 million dollar home.
And this was AFTER she had already served a state prison sentences for swindling an elderly home-owner out of nearly $750,000 in a similar scam.
