Celebrities crave access with Barack Obama

Celebrities crave access with Barack Obama By TINA DAUNT January 9, 2009 One of the things that makes Hollywood so attractive to politicians is not just the depth of its pockets, but the fact that its hand isn't out. Collecting contributions from any other industry usually comes with an implicit understanding that it wants something in return, usually something that has an economic benefit. Yes, the entertainment industry cares about copyright and distribution, but these days nearly everybody is on the same page when it comes to those issues. What celebrities care most about are causes and the access that lets them speak conscience to power. So as most of the town prepares to leave for the inaugural -- it will be easier to get a five-star suite in Cannes this year than D.C. -- Barack Obama and his aides don't have to worry about being button-holed by the glitterati over tax breaks or bailouts. What the new administration should expect -- and does by this time -- is a discussion of Darfur, hunger in America, global warming and all of the other issues that politically involved Hollywood has made its own in recent years.

BULLSTALIN.

John Travolta sought and GOT religious recognition for the Church of Scientology from Bill Clinton. They've saved millions in tax revenues from "auditing" patients, er followers, ever since.

And Obomber's #3 guy in the justice department is the head Rat at the RIAA. AND there will be a new federal investigation force that will specifically prosecute copyright violation.

Hollywood stands to rape billions from the American people with their ties to the Obama administration.

The LAtte Times Lies.

Shows you what a hoser he is if the Hollywood creeps are flocking around him.
To paraphrase Homer Simpson “Hollywood actors, is there anything they don't know?”

Hollywood is out looking for tax breaks for production..from states and the fed. There is no question that they”want” something for their money.

Celebrities crave ATTENTION. That’s why I don’t give a bleep when the Paparazzi blind them with flash bulbs and they drive into a tree.

The LA Times writer is very clever, Hitler’s Goebbels would be proud of him.

No, this is about position. President Bush kept them out of politics and got rid of a lot of riffraff that Clinton kept as hangers on.

Oprah and her cohorts are angling for staff positions and Streisand might want an ambassadorship.

The Hollywood crowd worked like crazy for Kerry and got humiliated in ‘04. This is their chance to get ‘revenge’ against those who balked them after the Democrats lost in ‘00 and ‘04. They want what they think they are entitled to.

Both past elections taught the filth that the people of this country do not bow to them and their ilk. Given their egos they saw this as a direct challenge to what they view is their rightful place in power. Not merely reciting lines or making movies, but making decisions that affect millions and domestic and foreign policy.

Now they see this as their chance to be in the places they feel (mind you I said feel, not think) are their rightful positions. It’s going to be a brutal four years and the backlash will be vicious. Since Hollywood will be closer to Washington now, I expect we should get used to seeing them go in and out of the White House and present for the signing of treaties.

Didn’t the Bamster say he wanted to use the Lincoln Bedroom and desk for his study? Since he is so much of a Lincoln wannabe, I bet he will even sleep in that bed..Michelle can sleep elsewhere. The Bush girls may have shown those two tweenagers how to bounce on that bed but I bet Daddyo won’t allow it on that bed.
