Al Franken stole the election? Prove it or shut up (Prepare to hurl)

Jan. 9, 2009 | If Al Franken were not a longtime public figure -- and thus severely handicapped by American jurisprudence -- he could file a powerful complaint for libel or slander against several of the most prominent wingnuts in the United States. From Rush Limbaugh to Bill O'Reilly to Richard Mellon Scaife, a chorus of familiar voices is loudly defaming the Democrat whose razor-thin win in the Minnesota Senate race will now be tested in that state's courts. Ever since Election Day, on radio and television, on the Internet and in print, they've screamed that Franken is stealing, rigging, pilfering, scamming, thieving and cheating his way to victory.

OK, fine. Coleman will prove it in court unless some judge throws out his case without hearing the merits of it.

Sounds like the author is arguing FOR a complete and fully adjudicated Coleman challenge.

...Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of Franken, or a fan of anyone. Don’t know much about him. But, I agree with Conason, Put up, or shut up...

The only thing Franken could get clear-headed about enough to steal is another batch of steroids.

This was a large group of Stalinist DFLers, with the League of Women Voters-types and the various federales showing profound disinterest in election corruption.

Are you Rip Van Winkle? Are you new to the Democrat process of recount, recount, recount, stop recounting when the Dem wins?

How about “finding” ballots after the election? How about counties producing more votes than there are voters? Get a clue.

We are talking about Al Franken he's calling the Conservatives WINGNUTS?

I can see Savage and maybe O'Reilly, but compared to Al Franken, they are "normal".

Never let more votes counted than voters who voted get in the way of any “fair” recount.

Speaking of which Savage. Anybody hear him refer to Buchanwald Buchanan (probably accurate) and “David Duke in Drag.” Was he referring to Ann Coulter?

If so . . .

Guy IS a wingnut.

Sure Mr. Conason, I’m quite ready to get one of the ACORN criminals to sign a confession as to what they did with those 1300 ballots while they were in the back of that guys car.

Just because Franken was getting passed over on sucha huge percentage of ballots even by DEMOCRATS who voted for Obama and every other DFL socialist, it should be completely believable that on the 1300 magical ballots Franken managed to not unpopular at all.

If this could actually go to a trial, it would be virtually impossible to convince a jury that Franken honestly won this election.

But when Conason asks for ‘proof’, he knows damn well that the only proof is a confession since anybody with a #2 pencil can add any many Franken votes as they want without there being a trace of evidence to prove they did it. If this were a court matter and not an election matter, those ballots in the trunk would never be admitted because there was no chain of custody and they would have to be presumed to be tainted (which, of course, the statistical outcomes pretty much guarantee).

Thre is one thing Colemans camp could do though. They could hire a forensic lab to check a bunch of the mystery ballots. If he could show even a couple of ballot in which all of the boxes were checked with a particular brand of pencil but the Franken boxes were checked with a different one, it could be sufficient to scare a judge into not sanctifying this criminal conspiracy.

As the article states, there is only one Dem on the election board and that Coleman agreed with the make up of it in advamce. The best way to win an election is to get enough votes to avoid a controversy or recount. I have no sympathy for that wimp Coleman anyway.
