It IS an awesome dose tonight. Thank you for the presentation. Did you know that AF1 is not considered AF1 until THE PRESIDENT OF THE USA walks aboard? Up until then, it’s considered a plane like any other plane. Same with Marine 1, I suppose. (learned from the History Channel).

Interesting that 41’s wings were placed under the structure at his library. Thanks for the info and the photo.

Thank you all for posting these threads through the last eight years. I apologize if I am missing anyone else who contributed.

I will miss President Bush and his family tremendously. Although I disagree with some of his economic decisions of late, I truly believe Bush is a fine man and thank him for keeping us safe.

Thank you again for the great work with these posts!

Thanks so much for these extraordinary pictures.

I watched this live (on C-Span - - - no talking heads). When the sailors started running up the stairs to board their new home I got pretty emotional, even tearing up.

It was at this moment that I realized our brave men and women deserve a CIC with the soul of both Bush 41 and 43.

And come January 20th, they will no longer have that.

I had to finally acknowledge that the CIC torch has been passed to someone who does not, cannot, appreciate the awesome responsibility and gift he has been given.

Thank you for these wonderful pictures.

I cried today when they played “Hail To The Chief”. I can’t stand to think of it being played for that phoney about to be inaugurated.

Could not agree more....I refuse to watch anything involving the Kenyan - including the inauguration.

Actually I have not watched any news since election night.

Anything important will be well covered in this forum.

thanks, daisyscarlett, and all dose posters going back to the founder of the dose, whose name escapes me at the moment.

We will miss the current and former Bushes more than we can know right now.

RiV, I have to tell you--Mrs. exit82 and I just watched the C-Span rebroadcast.

And we had the exact same reaction as you--right down to the tears.

The new CiC is not worthy of these men and women.

OMG, the commissioning ceremony of the George H.W. Bush was wonderful and moving. Makes me so proud to be an American. My Dad was Navy so this was extra special for me....I can picture him looking so handsome in his Navy uniform. George H.W. Bush is a hero, a patriot and a decent, good man......and the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.....our dear W..

Thanks again, DrDeb for the alert re C-Span repeat and Daisy for this wonderful Dose.

Now watching Gary Sinise....another patriot... with our troops......

It was very difficult to watch today’s ceremonies and meditate on what our country is going to lose in one more week.

Thank you, Daisy, for this fabulous collection of photos on a Saturday evening.

Thanks so much, daisy, for posting the Dose on this most momentous and unique day. You did a great job!

How special and historic: the first time a living former President has been aboard for the commissioning of the vessel in his name, and the current President in attendance is his son! I doubt the serendipity of this occasion will ever happen again in American history. How wonderful for
both Presidents.

What a glorious day ... what a first class, exemplary, dutiful and patriotic family. God bless them all .. God bless George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush, whose sterling parentage produced such wonderful children, most notably our incredible leader for the last 7+ years, George W. Bush.
We have been so blessed that he was at the helm these last years. May they all always have fair winds and following seas.

God bless and protect the men and women of CVN 77 and their missions. Guide them always safely back to home base.

Fox News video of the event:

And, of course, the list of “lasts” for Pres. Bush is stacking up ... the last flight on Air Force One. Reality hurts.

It was so like them to visit and thank the crew. He and Laura are pure class.

(PS .. Don’t miss Gary Sinise on FNC now ... he’s a FANTASTIC supporter of our military .. and he’s showing his Iraq visits to the troops.)
