This is President Barack Obama. I just want to say a few words of thank you to all those out there who worked so hard to get me elected.

1. Can you believe it? We pulled it off.

2. Unbelievable. In a few short years, I went from a relatively unknown Illinois state senator to President of the United States without one government official, state or federal, asking me to provide documents that proved that I was born in the United States and that I was a natural born citizen. Can you believe it?

3. All I had to do in each of the 50 states was to sign some papers and take an oath that I was eligible to be president, and that was it.

4. When I took the oath, not one state official ever asked to see my legal papers to back up my oath that I was born in Hawaii and that I was a natural born citizen. Not a single one.

5. Just between you and me: Can you believe how naive those state government officials were?

6. Unbelievably, all 50 states simply took my word for it. Again, can you believe it?

7. Luckily, the U.S. Supreme Court hasn’t yet demanded to see my legal documents that prove that I was born in the United States and that I am a natural born citizen.

8. However, if the Supreme Court ever orders me to produce my long form Hawaii birth certificate, my birth hospital records, and my college records, we all know I will be screwed.

9. But, of course, if the Supreme Court, for some terrible reason, suddenly decides to do its constitutional duty and asks me to provide legal documents to prove that I am who I say I am, I have some backup: I have all these great lawyers who will defend me to the death. (You understand I am not speaking literally about the “defend me to the death” thing.)

10. So, keep your fingers crossed and pray that the Supreme Court continues to leave me alone and does NOT ask to see my legal, valid documents that prove that I was born in the United States, specifically Hawaii, and that I am a natural born citizen.

11. NOTE: We must all give a huge, special thank you to Congresswoman Pelosi for all her help in getting me elected.

12. That is, we must all bow our heads and give a huge, special thank you to Congresswoman Pelosi, because when she signed that Hawaii document verifiying that I was eligible to be President, she helped convince other government offiicials that I indeed was born in the United States and that I was a natural born citizen.

13. Again, we all thank you Congresswoman Pelosi for signing that Hawaii document that said that I was eligible to be president, even though you had no official, Hawaii government proof whatsoever to back you up.

Thanks again, Congresswoman Pelosi, for putting your career on the line for me.

14. Finally, I again wish to thank all those who worked to put me in the White House by making sure that I did not have to produce any legal, valid documents that proved that I was born in the United States.

With all my love,

Barack Obama, President of the United States

Subject: Thank You For Contacting My Office

Dear Mr. Hunt:

Thank you for contacting me regarding President-elect Barack Obama. I appreciate having the benefit of your comments on this matter.

As you know, on January 20, 2009, Barack Obama will be sworn in as the forty-fourth President of the United States of America. As we enter the 111th Congress, our nation faces many challenges. We are in the midst of tough economic times, and the federal government must stand on the side of taxpayers and small businesses. Now more than ever, we need fiscal discipline in Washington. I welcome President-elect Obama’s commitment to reform the federal budget process and rein in wasteful government spending, and I will hold the President-elect accountable as Congress works to quickly identify and eliminate inefficient, ineffective, and outdated federal programs.

Families across Texas and the nation are forced to make tough financial decisions each day—the federal government should be no different. But year after year too many government programs are funded because there are small—but vocal—special interest groups backing them with little Congressional oversight to determine when ideas have run their course. The American people have a right to know how their hard earned dollars are being spent, and I will continue to support making our government more transparent, accountable, and efficient.

While strengthening the economy must remain a priority, we must also find bipartisan solutions to address other critical issues facing our nation while continuing to advance conservative principles such as limited government, lower taxes, family values, and fighting against those who seek to destroy the American way of life. The consequences of continued inaction are too great. It is imperative that Congress act quickly to secure our borders, reform our country’s immigration laws, modernize healthcare, and promote energy independence. You may be certain that I will continue to pursue conservative, common-sense initiatives that reinforce the principles upon which our country was founded while holding the new Administration accountable to the American people.

I appreciate the opportunity to represent Texans in the United States Senate. Thank you for taking the time to contact me.

Sincerely,

JOHN CORNYN
United States Senator

All this BS and nothing about the citizenship of Obama. It is your duty to make sure he is a natural born citizen. Can you do that? You have not done anything else. That is what you get paid for. Get off you ass and do just that. That is exactly the reason the republicans have lost control of the house and senate. You guys do nothing except hand out BS letters like this one. I would suggest that you get your noses together and come up with a new strategy or else you loose again in 2012. I will be posting your letter of BS on the Free Republic so that they will see how little you care.

Just sign me off as ONE PISSED OFF REPUBLICAN among many.
