Not a week into her tenure, Gov. Beverly Perdue flew to Washington to tell North Carolina's congressional delegation she needs $18 billion to kick-start the economy -- on top of another unspecified amount to fill the state's budget hole.

I can’t believe this witch beat McCrory. Yes, NC is is in financial difficulty. I wonder why? Could it have anything to do with the state legislature under democratic control for years and years? One of the main reasons we continued to live here after my husband retired from the military is that his military retirement pay is not taxed by the state (Bailey Act). I’m wondering how long that will remain in effect with this budget mess.
Oh, and bite it Bev. Cut spending.

As a Charlotte resident the fastest way to solving my problem of having every taxing authority against me (city, county, state, and Federal) is by moving 20 miles south to S Carolina. I can get rid of 3 of the 4 problems.
Well, we have had a democratic congress and at least two terms of a democratic governor. It makes your head spin to think of how fast a used to be upstanding state can go in the red. More pie anyone?
I still can’t believe this woman got elected. I watched a debate and she could not complete a coherent sentence. They had something on the news this week where they interviewed Bassnight and he said she never took advice from anyone, she told everyone what to do. We’re screwed.
Might be a good idea.
Not an option for me as I live in the Triad.
