The future of employment in the U.S. under the Obama Democrats.
Five of the top six employers in Chicago are government.

"What is unseen -- remember Frederic Bastiats broken window? -- is the loss in private employment, the jobs that would have been created if the government hadnt taken the spending power away from the private sector. Those losses unfold over a longer period of time, Christainsen says.
Its said, or used to be said, that governments role is to create an environment that encourages private job creation. That used to mean a backdrop of low taxes and light regulation."
With the public clamoring for more stringent rules to prevent a recurrence of the current crisis, it doesnt seem as if a business-friendly backdrop is even on the table.
More Socialism isn’t change, and when Obama’s plan inevitably fails, they will blame the GOP saying they wouldn’t allow his programs enough money.
Ultimately, I blame the American People. We get the Government we vote for and deserve.
I thought it was the Mafia.
Wait!
That would be the totals of #1,2,3,5, & 6.
Notwithstanding the arguement that the Chicago Machine has displaced the Mafia, because too much money was leaving the state.
That is sickening. 78,000 federal employees in Cook County alone. I have seen the census figures for government employment. It is unbelievable when you get all the sectors together. Except for the military, all government workers should be ashamed of contributing to the problem.
And virtually none of those government jobs produce anything, including the Chicago school system which only “produces” generation after generation of “dumbed-down” people who feel good about themselves and celebrate the “diversity” forced upon them by the demo-ratic regime.
It truly is Orwell’s “1984”. The proles live in Chicago.

I seem to remember that if left to the Chicago politicians, Wal-Mart wouldn’t even appear on the list. Wally is probably number five instead of four because the pols successfully blocked a new store complex a few years back.
...doesn’t surprise me a bit....same thing in some poor rural areas where the descendants of Great Society Programs are the largest economic engine in the county....and BTW just wait til all these folks retire....there won’t be enough money to fund it.
“Ultimately, I blame the American People.”
Agreed. (Though, I did not vote for Odumbo or any Democrat.)
Imagine;
the public schools employ 10 people for every
child. A $4.9 Billion budget. Waste?
According to socialist math we should be swimming in wealth.
Of course it’s the opposite.

Alaska, over 50% who work, work for the Govt - either local, muni or State.
Largest private emplyer in Alaska? A private hospital, the #2 employer, a grocery chain.
OF course, with such a small population, large rural areas and large military presense - such numbers are almost impossible not to have.

A depressing list. Look at all those highhly paid, over pensioned jobs that TAXPAYERS pay for
