Read that passage again. It’s not the nation as a whole that needs to humble itself, just “my people, who are called by my name”.
That means US.
I’ve read prophetic words that indicate that if we as a nation would have a national day of repentance, God would be merciful to us. I would imagine most of those people WOULD be Christians but you never know...you might get some others to see the need.
