It's Bruce Springsteen in utterly candid mode, discussing how Bush ruined America, and how he coped with recent tragedies of his own. But with a new president, the singer has a fresh optimism - hell, he even loves his local supermarket now

This is what happens when you have been so successful and made millions...

... Now you can say what the fuck you think about politicians and don’t give a damn about what others have to say...

...and still, continue to make millions, sell records, get awards and gathering crowds at your concerts.

That’s definitely what we call to be a winner! (even if that hurts, but such is freedom of speech!)

“You don’t like my political views! I don’t care!”

You know, I’ve been in some nice supermarkets, but I’ve never particularly felt the urge to grab somebody and get down to it in the aisles. Bruce appears to have developed some unsound tendencies on the way up.

"Yes, because, you know... the whole place practically has come crashing down. [laughs] Yes, there is severe accounting being taken of it right now. We're going through something that we haven't gone through in my life. Foreign policy, domestic policy - driven to its breaking point. Everything got broken.
"And the philosophy that was at the base of the last administration has ruined many, many people's lives. The deregulation, the idea of the unfettered, free market, the blind foreign policy. This was a very radical group of people who pushed things in a very radical direction, had great success at moving things in that direction, and we are suffering the consequences."

No, Bruce, those 'radicals' actually made things better, for a time, until they lost their way, and their message got lost in their desire to be liked by the media, and to grab more goodies for their own districts and States. If the Republicans had stayed on message, the Democrats would not have been able to make the gains they made in Congress in 2006 and 2008, and Obama wouldn't even be a footnote in history, much less President.

Bruce and his liberal friends are ecstatic, because it seems they have gotten all they wished for. We'll have to see how it plays out, and if the country will be any better off, or any safer, with them at the helm. If Obama fails, I wonder what his worshipers will do?

Please tell me what this guy is talking about.

He's bashing Republicans for not giving people hope, and pushing the idea that Obama now offers that.

Of course, all the while the Republicans were been in office, for the 8 years of Reagan, the four of Bush 41, and the 8 of Bush 43, he's made millions of dollars, so I don't know what he has to complain about.

How about on a "bed" of lettuce?

Seriously, this shows that the Boss is completely frakked up mentally. He lives a cloistered life, Obama is elected and suddenly the world is new again.

It's unbelievable.

Well, you are correct, I like Blinded by the Light too. I just looked it up. He did write it, but his version with his singing didn’t do well, and it was only when Manfred Mann’s Earth Band came out with its version was it a success. The article stated that this was the only song that he wrote that became #1.

“The article stated that this was the only song that he wrote that became #1.”

He forgot:

Dancing in the Dark - 1984
Brilliant Disguise - 1987
Tunnel of Love - 1987
Human Touch - 1992

Not to mention that 8 of his albums reached the top of the chart (including the last one “Magic”)

According to wikipedia (I know it is not always correct and has a leftist tint), none of these made #1.

p.s, the highest rated song that he performed according to another site was Hungry Heart which reached #5 in 1980. I think he mainly appeals to Americans, you rarely hear his songs played in Australia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blinded_by_the_Light As of 2008, the Manfred Mann's Earth Band recording of "Blinded by the Light" is still Springsteen's only Number 1 single as a songwriter on the Hot 100.
