We can be certain that some very nasty people will seize positions of leadership. They always do in times of political, social, and economic unrest. Such people are drawn to power like a magnet, and times of unrest give them golden opportunities.

"What's to prevent that?"

Nothing.

"What's the guarantee that they will be held accountable?"

None. Especially if a mendacious "newsmedia", serving as a political propaganda machine, provides cover for ambitious tyrants and the public tolerates corruption, dishonesty, and criminal activities in elected leaders, as has occurred in the U.S.A. in recent years.

Let's hope for the emergence of a Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan, George Washington, or Cincinnatus.

Neither will I. If Obama is a benevolent genius, he will abandon any such vision. In fact, he will abandon everything he has stood for in the past.

But Henry, what if the guys at the top think and act like the Paulsons and Madoffs of the world? What's to prevent that? What's the guarantee that they will be held accountable?

Well, the MSM seems to generally agree that having a "D" after a representative's name is guarantee enough. *sigh*
