No way his class should have done anything but networking. If you can’t understand that, get out of the business.
I once had to suffer through the first class of a semester listening to the Dean of Diversity talk about what we were not to say or write with a handy list of words that we were not to use. Burly was one of them, if I remember. She offended everyone in the class with her insipid policies and her ineloquent presentation.
That class time cost me 150.00 and she chewed through it without a thought. Total garbage. The class was Database Management, for Pete’s sake.
I believe I just laughed up a lung.
I believe I just laughed up a lung.
There was a letter to a station because they ran Rush Limbaugh’s program, where he aired the full inauguration without commercial break but WITH onair voiceover commentary (and the network announcers will often say things too).
This is sounding like the Left is once again saying “sit down, shut up, the debate is over”.
I won’t be considered a second class citizen in my own country.
I won’t stand by idle while those who’ve insisted that “dissent is patriotic” now have a new found love of flag pins and idol worship.
Which is why the immaculation was being shown in the classroom in the first place. Okayyyyyy...
Rush said a school in Green Bay was running his commentary on the speech, a teacher complained that the chilren cried at rush’s comments.
History will truly be made when the second black man is elected president (perhaps a conservative), because it will be on the merit of his ideas, not to be able to declare “for the first time ever...” or “he doesn’t look like the other guys on the dollar bills”.
Tell that Young lady to put on her “big Girl” panties and deal with it!
Ok, I’ll be the one to take the heat. I’m not going to give in to ODS. I’m not going to be the conservative version of my looney Democrat brother.
This is how I see it:
Watching the inauguration at school is understandable. It was an historic event, and Obama is our President. The office demands respect, even if you don’t respect the office holder.
A teacher making political comments about the event, either way, is wrong. The teacher deserves some time off.
There, fixed it.
If it were McCain being sworn in, or if this happened 4 years ago, the snide remarks and catcalls from professors would have been *required.*
Having said that, this prof. apparently does not read FR otherwise he would know not to do this. Should have known it could cost him his job or more. We know there are double standards so we have to live with them.
Tell your teacher that in the interest of diversity, class should be cancelled next week on the 26th of January for Chinese New Year.
I wonder, did this school have Bushes inauguration played in classrooms?
No kiddin, I start school there Monday and am attending orientation tonight.
All inaugurations are “historic”. There have been fewer than 50 of them.
What was done for the 2 Bush inuagurations? Was this “more historic”?
Or was it like MTV’s inauguaration balls, something that was only done for Democrats.
Nobama: Color trumps Competance....period.
What the teacher did was wrong, but I have no doubt this was common practice that went unpunished when anti Bush comments were made in classrooms.
