Know Your Enemy (Gun making in tribal Pakistan - Afghanistan)

Posted on 01/21/2009 3:01:44 PM PST by bethybabes69

Link to a video.

THIS is what the war on terror, and the West must overcome in order to make Afghanistan and Pakistan a reasonably peaceful zone.

Watch the Video, and answer me this;

Do you think the West, for example - Obama, Sarkozy, Merkel, Brown or any other Socialist leader in the West, could talk modern politics to these people and make peace?

Do you think they'd understand the concept?

Would you like these people within your borders as immigrants in order to blend your cultures with them?

How do you deal with people like that?

ALL they know is death, and to make death. Death is what they are.

Dudette... those folks have been making firearms with files and hammers since before the USofA was the USofA.

No news there. Now, if they were growing hash or something.... that might be news.... (rolls eyes)

Welcome to FreeRepublic, btw.

JR- You are so correct. I remember reading articles in SoF magazine back in the 70’s about the firearms cottage industry in Peshawar, Pakistan and Afghanistan. We’re not talking about flintlocks either. They were pumping out AKs, Browning Hi-Powers- you name it. And they did it without electricity. They are amazingly resourceful people!

Last I heard, wrapped and welded was still de-rigeur. Nothing wrong with that method.

How you deal with that?

Answer: 100 megatons of hot fusion.

Works every time.

We are pussies for not using the weapons WE MAKE.

The difference between us and them is that they do not give a flying rat’s ass about what the world thinks about them. They do what they need to do. We let others tell us what we need to do. That is why we will fail... and they will succeed. You have to be willing to be more brutal, more wreckless, more unmerciful than your enemy. If you cannot accept that concept, then you have no business engaging in the Art of War. War is Hell... and the more murderous that Hell, the quicker it will be over.

Only an idiot brings an AK47 to a W88 fight.

Nukes win every time they are used... or did we waste billions in development just to look at them?

Nuke two or three of their cities... just for effect, then say “Now, boys, which city do you prefer to loose next?” I guarandamntee you they will be most accomodating after we incinerate several hundred million of them.

Screw world “opinion”... the “world” hates us anyway... I would rather be hated and respected, than despised and chained to Allah.

An interesting propaganda film. The people making guns are not necessarily the Taliban though that is what our narrator wants us to believe. The narrator is an idiot about guns and should learn something about them but he won’t as he is part of the “get out of Afghanistan,” crowd. Obamasama must be proud.

As far as all these folks making and selling guns, why not? It was that way in this country when we were a free nation.

Great video, thanks for posting.

“Many sons, lots of guns.” “This is the philosophy of the Darra people.”

I liked the deaf mute sitting on the floor putting the finishing touches on a pistol just off the “assembly line.” A 9mm Mauser, “Made as China by Norico.” “3,050 Rupees - $50.”

I read about the Afghani gun artisans back in the 80s, tis nothing new.

This should be taken as a lesson by the disarmamentchiks of the glorious people democratic socialist republic of obamastan, any person with basic tools and a little knowledge is capable of creating a functioning firearm and ammunition. You’ll never succeed at permanently disarming an unwilling population.

You’ll just really piss off those of us who have the skill to do something about it.

So my question is, where do they get their primers? Is there some local formula or do they import them?

Primers? Does that mean raw materials and samples to copy?

No.

There are so many mistakes and inaccuracies in this video. The video is a couple years old and no one has claimed the War on Terror is over in Pakistan or Afganistan.

These people are not making firearms with their bare hands. They do have electicity and the only thing they showed is the finishing of the firearms with a buffing wheel hooked up to an electric motor. They did not show where the machine shop is.

They also showed someone seating a primer with a hammer and and anvil. That’s like using a Lee Loader and I still own mine.

The video is interesting but the maker should have learned about firearms in order to know what questions to ask.

Primers are actually quit easy to make. Reliable primers are another story.

A primer is not the original item to be copied, blueprinted and manufactured.

A primer is a component of a firearm cartridge. A cartridge is comprised of a bullet, case, powder and primer. The firing pin hits the primer which ignites the powder sending the bullet on it's way.

Thanks for your reply Shooter.

I've had a quick, and interesting email conversation/lesson on 'primers' and other artillery manufacturing basics by FReeper InABunkerUnderSF, and now I'm just a little more enlightened to gun, and bullet manufacture!

As you know, we Brits are rather green when it comes to firearms, so the initial question about primers whizzed straight over my head!

Thanks again for the info to you, and everyone who offered a brief on this.
