Obama Giving Up In Iraq; To Make It Official Tomorrow; All Brigates Out In 16 Months.
FOX News | Major Garret

Posted on 01/21/2009 4:19:35 PM PST by MindBender26

Maj just got the word, on Shep Smith show, scheduled to be announced tomorrow. All combat brigades to be out in 16 months.

Real effect is immediate surrender of purpose. No commander is going to undertake any major mission knowing that, at the very longest, no US offensive military power will be in-country after next Spring, so why waste lives to gain something we soon will give away.

Offensive operations will stop. Brigades will go into a useless, purely defensive mode. It's over. Our POTUS surrendered.

About 3000 Americans volunteered to pay the ultimate price in Iraq so we could be free. Obama just ensured those sacrifices will have no lasting meaning.

Bush prayed for every one of them and their souls. Obama just pissed on every one of their graves.

The bastard.

My understanding of the plan before this was to gradually remove forces as circumstances allowed with no definate time table- just a tenative time frame. This sounds like there is a firm time frame and that will encourage the enemy to hang on or wait us out.

Hey penelopesire,

My understanding is that there will be some Tropps left. Not all are coming out.

I think what is bad and we are not catching here, is that all offensive measures will be stopped. We should be keeping the enemy off balance and the way to do that is by attacking.

Yes, he is going to destroy our Nation, but we must keep from looking like we have Obama Derangement Syndrome. I don't think this is going to be easy, because this guy is going to stand on our only nerve.

So, it is true that we must get mad, but we have to keep from looking like we are deranged.

To rob a liquor store, maybe? Who knows? Nobody knows what he was really up to all those years.

Did I forget anything for the first full day of the dismantling of the USA?

Yeah, revoking President Bush's EO on re-investigating those chosen to hold America's trust.

Well, it was everything but a hard timetable:

Pact, Approved in Iraq, Sets Time for U.S. Pullout

By CAMPBELL ROBERTSON and STEPHEN FARRELL New York Times Published: November 16, 2008

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s cabinet on Sunday overwhelmingly approved a proposed security agreement that calls for a full withdrawal of American forces from the country by the end of 2011. The cabinet’s decision brings a final date for the departure of American troops a significant step closer after more than five and a half years of war.

-----

The proposed agreement, which took nearly a year to negotiate with the United States, not only sets a date for American troop withdrawal, but puts new restrictions on American combat operations in Iraq starting Jan. 1 and requires an American military pullback from urban areas by June 30. Those hard dates reflect a significant concession by the departing Bush administration, which had been publicly averse to timetables.

-----

In Washington, the White House welcomed the vote as “an important and positive step” and attributed the agreement itself to security improvements in the past year.

-----

As I said, things were pretty much worked out, The Big O is just trying to take the credit.

We,[ I] knew it would happen.

I voted gainst him but more people voted for him.

Sooner, rather than later, the changes that the sorry sobs that voted for obams to do enact are going to negatively effect them personally.

Whoever came up with the phrase,”What you don’t know won’t hurt you” is full of crap. What you don’t know can and usually does hurt you very, very badly.

The war, in essence, is already won by us and the Iraqi people. This is just feel-good frosting on the cake.

Bears repeating:

“Cool down, y’all. This is pretty much what the Bush Administration had planned, anyway.

Obama’s just trying to get some credit for doing it.

Thousands of support troops will remain to look after our interests.”

Thing is, only the aware people know that this is exactly what GW had set up already. From this thread, even most freepers apparently don’t know. The MSM certainly hasn’t covered it. They MSM will now re-cast recent history to show that obama was the one who got us out of a war that GW screwed up all the way to the end. That’s also how the leftscum who infest our “education” aka indoctrination institutes will spin it, too.

I am an American, and I have not earned the wrath of God, except in the sense that all have sinned and earned the wrath of God. If there's a divine punishment, let it fall on Obama.

He has found a giant loophole:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2169157/posts

“With regard to U.S. force levels in Iraq, a newly enacted agreement between Washington and Baghdad sets the legal framework for a timeline of withdrawal. The status-of-forces agreement, which became effective Jan. 1, stipulates that American combat forces pull back from cities and villages to major bases by June 30, 2009.

The deal also calls for all American troops to vacate Iraq by the last day of 2011, though officials point out that a withdrawal timeline is subject to change according to political circumstances.”

By ‘political circumstances’, I am sure they mean their own leftist political base..not any politics in Iraq.

We are screwed and so is our country. MARK MY WORD...Iraq will start blowing up within weeks as the Afghan jihadees pour back into Iraq just as Biden and Obama start sending all of our troops to Afghanistan.

Pray for America, Our Troops and Obama’s Guidance

The Republican Party, who are now in the process of surrendering to Obama in Washington(see John McCain). Are about to find out that elections, truly do have consequences.Obama made no secret of his desire to surrender in Iraq. Nor did he make a secret of his desire to close Gitmo, which he is also doing. Even so, the America people looking to a Socialist to lead them to the Promised Land and Economic Freedom(Freedom to not Pay bills, including Taxes).Well, now they have him and we’re all going to pay very, very Dearly for it..

Lessee now, I know a young man that was in my son’s unit after serving his combat time in Iraq was discharged, finished his degree and just got a notice to report back on active duty and looks like he will be heading to Afghanistan. He’s RA by the way, not NG.

Meanwhile, this yellow-bellied Kenyan is sending all sorts of weak signals to our enemy. This clown does NOT have a clue at all, which makes the most dangerous kind.
