The New York Times reports: "Over 300 workers with brooms marched alongside vacuum trucks that looked like Zambonis, all plowing through more than 100 tons of paper, plastic water bottles, newspapers, food wrappers and hundreds of tiny American flags left behind."
Trampling American flags into the ground during an inauguration is now the highest form of patriotism.
Shhh. It’s not patriotic to criticize Obama supporters.
Why should they need American flags anymore? They won.

Obama supporters equate American flags as a symbol of all that is wrong with the world.......According to these know-it-alls,America is the primary reason for the every problem on earth......of course that’s why the live in the good ole US and not North Korea
what’s an american flag compared to the international socialist movement?
Hopefully, all of the flags being trampled on are the ‘bogus’ ones that Zero defaced by putting his image on them. Those don’t count.
They did this at the convention in Denver. So it’s not surprising. Our flag should be treated with respect. It’s our flag!!!
One wonders what the left will trash, once the nation they loathe is gone, the flag they love to burn, deface, and walk on has no homeland.
When it is their mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers who are being taken out and shot, who will defend them?
At that point they will either act as if they loved the former nation they helped to destroy, or they will be betraying them too, and helping to round them up for the kill.
Like anyone is surprised by this behavior? Democrats have been doing this for years. And no I am not joking.
And the Republican team was said to have retrieved them for use at Palin’s rally the following day.
“They weren’t trashed, they were there to be picked up later and the r1ght wing boy scouts stole them!”

The trashing of the Mall and DC will not be shown by the MSM until after the March for Life.
If I had a flag that I’d waved at such an occasion, I’d treasure it forever.
