Way back when I was in highschool, a friend’s father had done the same thing with a Crosley 4 cyl OHC motor. He used it to power a miniature hydroplane. The Crosley was probably easier to build though, due to the OHC design.

I'm learning engine repair as I go along. I have a 1954 Oldsmobile 88 that I'm restoring --

I did the paint job last year (first time at that - boy was THAT fun) and I'm now in the process of getting the heads rebuilt. I'll be doing the valves and guides myself, but a machine shop is going to hot tank the heads for me, since there was a tremendous amount of gunk causing blocked passages.

We do loves our cars - oh yes we do!
