Pro-life Obama Ad Viewed over 250,000 Times in Three Days

WASHINGTON, January 22, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A video advertisement being dubbed the "pro-life Obama ad" has been well received by Americans during the week of President Barack Obama's inauguration.  The ad has already been viewed hundreds of thousands of time online, and will soon be appearing on major US television networks.

The ad shows an ultrasound of a baby in a womb, while the text explains that during his life the baby’s father will abandon him, and his single mother will struggle to support him.  But, "despite the hardships he will endure," the ad continues. "This child will become the 1st African American President."  The ad climaxes with a picture of President Obama and the slogan, "Life. Imagine the Potential." (See the ad here: http://www.catholicvote.com/)

The ad was created by CatholicVote.com, a project that the Fidelis Center founded in 2008 to educate Americans on the "critical issues in the public policy arena." During the 2008 Presidential campaign drive, CatholicVote.com released a highly successful Election film that received almost four million views in just eight weeks.

In a recent letter to subscribers, president of CatholicVote.com, Brian Burch described how the new ad has been viewed 250,000 times in three days and made the top ten most viewed videos on YouTube.com.

The ad has also already been running on Black Entertainment Television and is soon to be aired on CNN, Fox News, and EWTN.

Burke half-joked that some supporters have been "challenging us to try and air our new ad during the Super Bowl," but it "may be difficult to raise $3 million in a week."

"But we do know that our ad is making people stop and think - especially supporters of Barack Obama.  We are convinced that we can make a big difference with this ad campaign," he continued.

"We must remember that being right isn't enough. We must find new methods and new ways to express the eternal truths, to new audiences.  We are seizing this historic moment with a powerful message to defend the sanctity of human life," concluded Burke.

I love it!!!! Very well put together and ‘to the point’!

I find the comments so sad. One said something like, ‘A woman’s body and baby does not belong to the Catholic Church’. Gawd, how these people ‘just don’t get it’!

Most Blacks (especially middle-aged and older) are extremely pro-life, that is why it’s so strange that they continue to vote for the ‘Rats.

One thing you need to understand about this issue.

It’s 1% about “keeping the choice legal”
and 99% about keeping past choices from bothering consciences.

Zero must be livid about this.

This is the way you beat these enemies - by bringing out a truth in such a way that for them to refute it - makes them look even worse.

All they can do is steam.

love it

Oh they get it alright, it scares the crap out of them and the abortionists are going to be out in force on YouTube trying to demean this ad -- they would try to discredit it, but they realize that the content is 100% accurate.

Exactly and a lot of the comments are to deflect attention from the real issue.

There is a guy on YouTube who talks about how the baby could have grown up to be a serial killer. The REALITY is that, according to Wikipedia, there have been just over 100 serial killers in American histories, that many babies are slaughtered EVERY 45 MINUTES. More Americans are killed in abortuaries EACH DAY than have been killed by all serial killers combined.

This ad needs to be seen as often as Enzyte and ShamWow. Sending a donation to CatholicVote today.

I am a huge supporter of Human Life International and Priests for Life, but I hate to say they seem to spend a lot of time just preaching to the choir. Why bother running on EWTN (unless it's free)? Show it on MTV.

We need to Get In Their Faces. Young people especially!! They are the future of Pro-Life!

I agree, I find it difficult to believe that ANYONE watching EWTN is pro-abortion. These ads need to be run on the networks that women who are most likely to be aborting babies actually watch.

What I like about the ad is that it’s very succinct, just matter-of-factly. There’s no voice-over or narrator. Great ad.

I hope so. I would hate to think Stanley was burdened with him for nothing. Zer0 can finally be useful for something positive.

After hearing about all the terrible and stupid things Obama has done just two days in office this ad made me laugh. God does indeed have a sense of humor.

EWTN is shown all over the world. They have at least 120 million viewers and they aren’t all enlightened on the abortion issue.

Agree it should be shown on MTV - not sure they’d run it though...

I agree, but I don't think that many women who would be considering abortion watch it.

MTV is just like every other network these days, they are desperate for all the ad revenue they can get, they would take it.
