President Obama yesterday eliminated the most controversial tools employed by his predecessor against terrorism suspects. With the stroke of his pen, he effectively declared an end to the "war on terror," as President George W. Bush had defined it, signaling to the world that the reach of the U.S. government in battling its enemies will not be limitless.
While Obama says he has no plans to diminish counterterrorism operations abroad, the notion that a president can circumvent long-standing U.S. laws simply by declaring war was halted by executive order in the Oval Office.
Key components of the secret structure developed under Bush are being swept away: The military's Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, facility, where the rights of habeas corpus and due process had been denied detainees, will close, and the CIA is now prohibited from maintaining its own overseas prisons. And in a broad swipe at the Bush administration's lawyers, Obama nullified every legal order and opinion on interrogations issued by any lawyer in the executive branch after Sept. 11, 2001.

I don’t think obama is going to change his mind. Destruction of Americans IS his mind. We people are dispensible. He, and the powers that be, are ALL that matters, and the loss of a few thousand of *us* is ok with him if it results in more power for *them*.
Yes they do. Their 'compassion' is about to be tested in real dollar terms, and they like the liberals know them to be, will always blame conservatives for causing their financial crisis. Liberals know these RINOs are so like them, neither ever take measure of themselves as to how they got to where they are, there is always someone else to blame.

0 is going back to "it's a criminal matter" approach. We try to catch them after the fact and then convict them in court and put them in jail. I'm sure the media will proclaim the nobility of this and how successful it is because we won't be attacked for a long time.
Nobody will actually look and see we won't be attacked because GWB dismantled their networks, destroyed the training areas, killed most of their leadership and has made it much harder for them to finance operations. 0 will get all the praise and benefit of someone else's hard lifting.
If the muzzies aren’t doing terror they are planning and armning. The only way to stop the cycle is to totally eliminate them.

Is this being applauded? I’m confused on this, they think this is a GOOD thing? I mean I know they want Gitmo closed and supposed “torture” to end, but they really wanted the “War on Terror” to end?

leadership is a top down thing - look for morale in the ranks to start eroding slowly - combat teams will be a little less effective because they will have to think twice - always wondering if they have their backs covered, re-enlistment numbers will suffer, early retirements will increase, the enemy will be imboldened a little more each day...the world just became a much more dangerous place for us again...

I know I shouldn’t think so, but I keep feeling a sense of justification coming. Those people in the population centers that voted so overwhelmingly for this guy are going to be the ones to suffer. And this time, it’ll be in the 10’s of thousands. And somehow, I won’t be feeling too sorry for them.

1. There are now more than 20 million illegal aliens in this country. The vast majority are hispanics. They are a unified liberal welfare plantation voting block. They are not now nor will they ever vote GOP or Conservative. Their birth rate is geometric. They are rapidly taking over the western half of the United States, are taking up massive federal and state welfare benefits, bringing disease and crime to our neighborhoods. Acorn will register them and they will be paid to vote DemonRat.
2. Blacks have been and continue to be a 100% voting block for liberals. With a mulatto as President it will ensure continued DemonRat support. Blacks are also being recruited in jails and prisons for Islam. Since 7 out of every ten black males in the U.S. between the ages of 14 and 35 have either been arrested, jailed, on bail or on parole, they are a perfect audience for capture by Muslim factions. They will never vote GOP or Conservative since we oppose everything thing they represent.
3. Muslims are rapidly taking over key inner cities in the U.S. Their birth rate is frighteningly geometric, their politics outwardly liberal but inwardly fascist. They are patient and will work to eventually take over the U.S. politically, economically and to force Sharia law on us. They will never vote GOP opr Conservative since we are the only line standing between them and total world domination. With a Muslim now as President, it will be even worse.
Add in the enviro wackos, abortionists, anti-war nuts, criminal unions, homosexuals, socialists, communists, atheists, religious liberals (Methodists etc.), government workers, and run of the mill DemonRat sheeple and you have a voting block of liberals that will NEVER again be defeated. Get used to it. Hopefully, enough of us will still be alibve to see the day when Mexican gangs and Muslim terrorists are in an open civil war to see who controls the land once known as the United States of America.

but in my search, all I came up with was assurances that God protects the righteous while punishing the wicked.
Read Psalms 140-142. This is what I read after election day. I opened the Bible to this page and just started reading.
Especially of interest is Psalm 141:9-10.
Another group that voted overwhelmingly for 0bama is the elderly crowd that wants free medical care.
The reality is, they are going to be the ones rationed out of the system first.
The coalition Obama put together only beat a weak sister like McCain by 53-48 in an election in which McCain shouldn't have won 40%. For now, he has the swing voters, who were repelled by Republican governance. That will change.
Obama is digging his own grave by hamstringing the CIA and the Pentagon this way. The jihad will bide its time. They have a somewhat passable understanding of our domestic politics. The pressure will ease on them, although I expect more Predator strikes in Afghanistan and whatnot. They will wait, perhaps a year, while Obama settles in and thinks he has them beat. They will plan and infiltrate.
George Bush handed off good tools to his successor to keep the Jihadis on the run. But Barack Obama thinks he's the Smartest Man in the Room and doesn't believe he needs what was in Bush's toolbox.
The last American politician who thought that way was Tom Dewey. Obama's good fortune is that he hasn't ran into his Truman yet. But he will.
The jihadis will strike deep inside the American interior. Probably VBIED's or a Mumbai variant, or, better yet from their point of view, a variation on the Beslan attack. This will come out of the blue, but not for a year, at least.
They want Obama to get all the blame because they want to show him to be weak and helpless in front of the other Muslims. They want to humiliate him. Humiliation and shaming is important in Muslim culture. It will be important to them that none of this get traced back to Bush, and that Obama get all the blame and responsibility. That's why UBL and Al Zawahiri will wait.
No attack for at least a year. As Lenin wrote, "peace is a time for gathering one's forces...".
As a result of believing his own propaganda, Obama is destroying himself without knowing it. And wait until Conyers and the Left in Congress get going. The CIA is in bad enough shape without the Left setting up a Star Chamber to investigate everyone it doesn't like.
The CIA mistook the good feelings they got from Democrats for cameraderie because they leaked against Bush. Now they are about to find out how wrong they were.
All the good feelings right now are the Quiet before the Storm. When this Administration unravels, it won't be pretty. Personality Cults never are.
