In a long-expected move, President Barack Obama plans to sign an executive order ending the ban on federal funds for international groups that perform abortions or provide information on the option, officials told The Associated Press on Friday. Liberal groups welcomed the decision while abortion rights foes criticized the president. Known as the "Mexico City policy," the ban has been reinstated and then reversed by Republican and Democratic presidents since GOP President Ronald Reagan established it in 1984. President Bill Clinton ended the ban in 1993, but President George W. Bush re-instituted it in 2001 as one of his first acts in office. The policy bans U.S. taxpayer money, usually in the form of U.S. Agency for International Development funds, from going to international family planning groups that either offer abortions or provide information, counseling or referrals about abortion. It is also known as the "global gag rule," because it prohibits taxpayer funding for groups that lobby to legalize abortion or promote it as a family planning method. The Democratic official and senior U.S. official who disclosed the plans did so on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to pre-empt Obama's announcement. Obama was expected to sign the executive order at a low-key event, one day after the 36th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion.

I find all these executive orders more than a bit uncomforting in the sense that is the president supposed to submit his ideas to the legislature for a vote? I was of the understanding that executive orders were used as a last ditch effort.

What is so reprehensible is that obama takes my tax dollars to fund the murder of the most innocent of human beings. Our Founding Fathers would not believe how evil and immoral the government has become with the democraps.
If anyone will engage in the issue logically, they will be soundly defeated, so they avoid such a logical discussion where possible.
However, if you can get them to engage, ask them when life begins. If they state anything other than at conception, then you can ask how that moment is different from the moment before it.
If they refuse to state when life begins, they’re saying they don’t know, but are erring on the side of killing a human life.
Anyone that killed a hunting buddy because he shot at motion in a bush and didn’t know whether it was his buddy or not would be prosecuted for negligent homicide.

A heck of a lot of folks of other denominations voted for Obama, why should Catholics get the blame? I think any Catholic who voted for him was STOOPID, but I don't think they were a majority of his voters.

Catholic doctrine illustrates that the foundation of the Catholic faith is dedication to and belief in the sanctity of all human life. Therefore it is impossible to support infanticide (or those politicians who do) and maintain a spiritual connection with the Catholic Church.
Those who support abortion and claim to be catholic are doing just that.....claiming to be catholic.
I have attended Mass when the presiding priest made the dictates of Catholic doctrine regarding abortion very clear to the congregation and have seen individuals stand and leave. I pray for their souls, but the Catholic Church doesn’t need members who elect to pick and choose which tenets of the Catholic faith they wish to follow.
Personally, not unlike the Republican party, I believe the Catholic Church needs to demand that their members are true to the doctrine of the Church, or in regard to the Republican Party, that its members remain true to conservative ideals.
Anyone can say they are Catholic. It is how that person lives their life that determines whether or not they are Catholic.

I saw a sign yesterday at the MFL that said (something like): The Bishops should be held to account for not telling Catholic voters the truth... and Catholics who voted for Obama should be kept from communion until they confess their sin."
I'd like to know: How is it that so many Catholics (notice I am not throwing all Catholics in one pile here) do not follow their religious conviction regarding Life?
I guess another more specific way of putting it is this (to be blunt): Why are so many Catholics ruled, not by their faith and the teaching of the church, but by something else?
Please... I understand that you are not in the group I refer to here. This is not a personal attack.

AND Let me hasten to add: In weakness, I sin. I seek God's forgiveness every day for not obeying His Word. But when I evaluate candidates, their stance on the issue of Life and all that goes with it, is a guiding principle.

My mistake in not making it clear that the headline writer was an MSM graduate of the school of mis-direction.
I first saw this on Yahoo as a headline and said, "Wow! The Zero's supporters are gonna have his head over this one."
Then I read the article and saw the Yah-Yah-Brotherhood-of-make-the-Zero-look-good in evidence.
Wonder how many will be shocked to learn that he still supports abortion in every shape, form, and fashion after only reading the MSM headlines.
