I heard about this on Fox News. As someone who went through the Northridge quake back in 1994 earthquakes scare the holy hell outta me. I wasn’t aware that Alaska suffers from as many earthquakes as us Californians. I hope that everyone is safe over there

She probably felt it since she is not that far from Anchorage(I believe Wasilla is a half an hour drive from Anchorage) I have heard no reports of injuries. WOW so California and Alaska do have something in common, I was not aware of the many earthquakes Alaska has daily, last night we had one here in Marina Del Rey(a small one) but I did not feel it. Looks like a new fault line

160 miles from Anchorage, it seems to have not affected too many people.

I felt that one, it was only a 3.2 though; it seemed short too - a couple seconds and it was over.

Obama and the media don’t even consider Alaska part of the United States so I doubt he gives a damn

We get shakers all the time, I rarely notice them.

Not likely you would notice anything unless you were in the immediate quake area .. we’re off to Alaska in May.. I’m hoping for some Northern Lights, hold the quakes and muskitoes, Thank You.

Here in Metro Atlanta we felt one that was centered in TN (maybe AL not sure) just before daybreak several years ago. I was absolutely amazed that the noise and vibration started in the attic and ended in the basement.

Nothing here in Wasilla. Asked my wife, she didn’t feel anything either. Some people are more sensitive to tremors, I almost never feel them. Besides all the pictures are still hanging straight on the walls.

Checking in.....nothing felt here. My lobster and Coast Guard bear are still sitting in their assigned places. A friend across town said she had some shaking and her daughter called from southeast of Anchorage and said she really had some shaking. This quake was 162 miles SW of Anchorage.

Issaquah....any activity on your side of town?

Recent earthquake activity.

1964 Alaska earthquake

Lasting nearly five minutes, it was the most powerful recorded earthquake in U.S. and North American history, and the third most powerful ever measured by seismograph; it had a moment magnitude of 9.2 and registered 8.4 on the Richter scale.

I remember a fishing boat owner decided to ride out the Tsunamis in his boat. After the second or third wave arrived his friend asked him on the CB radio, was he alright and where is he? He answered affirmative and looked over the side and said "right now I'm about 35 feet over top the Kodiak High School roof.

never felt it - we were doing demo and putting in new floors for a disabled vet (Iraq, Marine) and a whole lot of bangning was going on.

Had a blast, ate some pizza, drank a couple of sodas and replaced all the flooring in the downstairs and kitchen/landury, repaired the 1st floor bathroom - all one level now!

Man, I love that laminate snap together flooring, goes together lickity split.

THaks for the heads up, the wife and I usually bet on those....
