Things are looking dire south of the border, in spite of the fact that illegal immigration has waned somewhat in recent years. If Mexico collapses, we ain’t seen nothing yet.

They’re calling for the government to step down in Iceland because of the economic mess.

As much as we may not be entirely happy with him, we should be pulling for Felipe Calderon, because his war on the cartels is going to effect the U.S., one way or another.

Let me fix that::****“The government, its politicians, police and judicial infrastructure are all criminal gangs and drug cartels.” *****

“The increasing levels of violence and lawlessness in Mexico can’t be ignored. “

Well, sure it can if you’re a liberal or Rino! I’ve had one poster moaning at me for a week that there is NO problem with Mexico except my paranoia....well,me and the pentagon, the marines and any border agent!

Thanks.

This article is a much more responsible and honest treatment of the **TWO PARAGRAPHS** in the **56-page** JOE report that discuss Mexico.

More than one half-dozen completely disingenuous reports of these two paragraphs have been previously posted on FR, and the posters seem to defend headlines that amount to “Pentagon To Intervene In Mexico”.

Notice the slight towards Texas, basically saying they are arming the drug cartels with weapons... Not mentioning the flood of weapons being brought up through Central America...

Hmmm, Texans must have a lot of extra weapons laying around, or could it be the weapons that were supplied to the Zetas BY the U.S. Government?

Could Mexico — America's largest neighbor, its third largest trading partner and third largest supplier of oil — really be ripe for collapse?

I think its a given. And it is going to happen on Obama's watch. G-d help us all.....

Things are not looking dire. Suddenly with Obama’s advent, all these Mexico-is-falling stories are appearing. Ask yourselves why? The left would love Calderon’s government to fail and Obrador and his ilk to succeed. They’ve been seething since the PRI lost its grip. Take a trip to Mexico — past the border towns — and see for yourselves.

Oh... I was thinking “Invasion” and “Annexation”.

But yet, they imprison agents for shooting one in the butt! And then give him lots of money to stick around and testify against the agents. As much as I like Bush...he was certainly too close to the Mexican government and so is Rick Perry. Perry is pushing hard for the big interstate (I-35)out of Mexico. We need a new governor big time. One that will look out for Texas.

I wonder if this is a ploy to make us feel sorry the the Mexicans so we don’t complain about them coming here illegally

Looking back on history, President Polk made a major blunder in not pushing for the annexation of Mexico in 1848 when our army occupied and controlled Mexico following the Mexican-American War.

It would have been sweet to have Puerto Escondido and Cabo San Lucas part of the States.

Looks like we will have a second shot at it.

It's back to geography class for the The San Antonio Express News as Canada is over five times bigger than Mexico.

Mexico total area = 1,923,040 Sq km. Canada total area = 9,984,670 Sq km.

Yet another example of the numerous layers of editors and fact checkers that the Internet just doesn't have.
