Boycott Greg Gutfeld's 'Red Eye'
Monday, January 26, 2009
"Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld" on the Fox News Channel must be boycotted or taken off the air. Its sexist, misogynist, homophobic, racist, speciesist and self-hating host must be maimed, lynched and/or killed. If not, someone might be offended.
And that cannot happen -especially now that President Obama is poised to make everything really great.
In an era of extreme political correctness, when almost everyone is offended by almost everything, and with self-appointed advocacy groups organized to find offense on behalf of almost everyone -offensively, without the majority in the group's consent - it's nice to know that there's a place to go where everyone can be offended almost all of the time. Even if it's hidden on the offensive cable news network, according to offensive liberal watchdog David Brock's Media Matters, and shown at an offensive hour - Monday to Friday, 3 a.m. EST.

Double-plus ungood... they criticize Dear Leader now and then... this cannot go unpunished
All I can say is that I have watched it thrice....each time I came away wanting to take a shower. No thanks.
Boring, infantile show. Seen it a few times...I’m surprised at who shows up to be on it.
If you can’t sleep, and have memorized the test patterns, then you might want to try watching ‘Red Eye’.
This is satire, right?
Catch Red Eye almost every morning here in Europe as it’s on at 9 AM. Good show.
David Brock-minster of propaganda of the SA!
At 3 am, a boycott is not necessary.
Megyn Kelly was on last night in a short black dress.
That’s enough reason to watch.
Schulz is not gay. Both he and Gutfeld are just infantile.
Since Breitbart is a frequent guest on the show, I'd say yes.
I think the table moved!
The Washington Times is one of my favorite papers. Here it lauds ‘Red Eye’ in a frank manor. The show is over the top. It disrespects everything. If you’ve got a hot button, that button will be hit. Tune in at your own risk.
These guys don’t miss a beat. They go counter to everything politically correct. And in so doing, they also go counter to everything that is even close to common decency. While I don’t want common decency to be discounted, I do like the idea that politically correct is put in it’s place by at least one entity on television. SNL can claim some of that, but more often than not, it’s focus (politically) is on putting Conservatism in it’s place. No thanks.
Shows like ‘Red Eye’ (as if), have one major problem. They soil everything they touch on. They soil everyone who appears on the show. If you’re a person of stature, you can’t escape that show with all of it in tact. You’ll never be seen quite the same after appearing there.
Parts of it are side slappingly funny. Other parts are so over the top, they are groaningly face covering in appropriate and even insulting.
I tune in from time to time to see what is taking place. I can’t watch for too long. It’s not that the show isn’t funny, but it’s also debasing and vulgar.
In life there are some things I have decided not to participate in. For the most part ‘Red Eye’ is one of those things. I urge folks to take a look, so they know what is going on, but I don’t advocate becoming a big fan of the show.
Fox tries to pass itself off as a Conservative network. This show couldn’t qualify as something a Conservative could watch in good conscience.
That’s how I see it. I welcome opposing opinions, not that you’ll be right mind you. LOL
It's one of the best shows on TV.
I hate it when they bump it for some nothing event like election coverage, presidential inaugurations, etc.
“The most important human endeavor is the striving
for morality in our actions. Our inner balance and
even our very existence depend on it. Only Morality
in our actions can give beauty and dignity to life.”
- Albert Einstein -
I don't understand, what is there to dislike?
The DUmmies hate it. It must be good. ;)
Hey, you get the award for the most inappropriate attempt to label someone a NAZI for the month of January. Congrats.
I guess free speech should be limited to insulting someone’s intelligence, not warning folks that a show can and does go over the top. /s
You doth protest too much...oh, I see you are new.
Stopped reading right there.
Ya beat me to it and I still haven’t figured out a quick way to post a picture, anyway.
Thank you Thank you Thank you
She was on the other night too. She sat there clammed up for the most part. The next day she commented on the fact she couldn’t think of anything to say.
Her ex-husband, what a doofus for letting her go.
Jeez, go to that link only for the pictures. The “comments” are worse than terrible if that is possible.
I am not easily offended and can watch anything but for some reason I find Redeye - unwatchable.
Something about it’s just too silly, too vulgar and piles it on nonstop. Normally that would be a prescription for irreveremnt fun, but the show just comes off as goofy and annoying.
I saw no reason to go past the pictures :)
I guess my satire was a little pointy. Sorry about that.
Speech should always be free, regardless of the content, unless it infringes upon someone’s civil liberties or does actual harm.
Yes, they are so bad I looked for an abuse button. Too bad they don’t seem to have one. That anonymous what a real jackass.
Satire of satire. I love it!
Don’t be sorry. That was your opinion. I just disagreed with you. Let me see if your explanation of what should be allowed under free speech holds up under the following example.
Read the comments on this page. Pay special attention to Anonymous. There’s a particular comment about Megan’s face, that I think should cause you to rethink your rule regarding free speech.
Here’s that link. Sorry.
I *LOVE* Red Eye! It takes a couple of viewings to ‘get it’, but for those with a certain type of humor, it is a guilty pleasure.
Greg is quite conservative, and his nightly ‘Gregalogues’ often pack quite a lot of conservative wit and truth.
“I love Red Eye. I Tivo it since I’m not normally up at 3:00a.
It’s one of the best shows on TV.
I hate it when they bump it for some nothing event like election coverage, presidential inaugurations, etc.”
Thank you and I agree totally....finally a non-stuffy, conservative show.. it’s really funny!
I think Redeye is hilarious. Silly, infantile, sometimes offensive, sure. Still funny.
It took me several tries to “get it,” but I think Gutfeld is a genius. The guests usually laugh all the way through the show.
For some reason anonymous un-moderated forums bring out the worst in some folks.
I posted a thread last week on FR about the new commuter railroad between ABQ and Santa Fe banning photographs out the windows while traversing Indian pueblo lands (no matter that this section of the ROW has been in passenger use for well over 100 years). My link was to a local TV station that has a comment forum. It didn't take long for it to fill up with all of the worst, hateful racist, ethnic stereotypes about Native Americans that one could imagine. Responses by those on the other side of the coin were made largely by the bleeding heart types that believe we must continually defer forever to the sensitivities of the Indian people due to their treatment by first Spanish, then Mexican and finally American conquerers. The thread had filled to nearly 400 posts when the station yanked it. Very little constructive discussion on the free speech issues involved here (taking a picture from a public right of way).
I only watch when Anna Gilligan is on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp8brMrjzR4
pics or it didn’t happen
guess I should have scrolled
