Gov. Jim Doyle's administration has hired a former legislative aide convicted of two misdemeanors in the caucus scandal to head the state's federal lobbying efforts.

Tanya Bjork, 38, was convicted of two misdemeanors in 2005 for her role in the largest political scandal in state history. Bjork served as an aide to former Sen. Brian Burke (D-Milwaukee), who was convicted of a felony and misdemeanor in 2005 as part of a widespread probe that uncovered political campaigning using taxpayer resources.

Bjork pleaded no contest to charges that she altered records and illegally solicited campaign funds in the state Capitol.

Administration Secretary Michael Morgan today announced she would lead the state's federal lobbying efforts.

"Tanya's experience and expertise in working with the new Obama administration, Congress and state legislatures over the years will help us improve our ability to work with the federal government on issues like the stimulus package, health care and economic development," Morgan said in a statement.

Bjork has worked for the legislatures in Wisconsin and Minnesota and most recently served as director of Obama's campaign in Wisconsin.

More 'change we can believe in' from the Democrats here in Wisconsin....

Now I am curious, I thought Obama had cleared up this whole lobbyist thing. The Gov of Wisconsin admits the only reason this crook got her job was because of her being the Messiahs campaign director here in the state.

Tanya Bjork, Assembly Democratic Caucus (ADC) Director under then-Rep. Shirley Krug, D-Milwaukee, left the ADC to work for former state Senator Brian Burke. Bjork was charged with 2 misdemeanors in 2002 in connection to Burke. She later entered a plea of no contest and was ordered to pay a $250 fine and complete 50 hours of community service.

The tentacles of the 0bama campaign just keep spreading. Every state, every city, every town and every village. He has been very successful at getting his minions in control all across the country.
