I applaud you for your bravery. And it will take more conservatives and republicans calling their democrat leaders to move the mountain. You see, we focus on republicans and getting them to listen and do what we need them to do, but we need to be in the democrats backyard too. If not, then we’re only fighting half the battle.

Drier was just on C-SPAN making a pretty impassioned case against the stimulus...I think its pretty safe to say he’s on the right side of this thing.
The GOP alternative plan was just voted down. Not that its a surprise, just making note for the boards. Two Democrats voted in favor, while nine Republicans voted against it.
I’ll be enraged if we see that result reversed on the actual vote here in a bit (that is- More Republicans voting for the Stimulus Package than Democrats voting against).

I don’t have names yet but this concerns me for the final vote. As long as those nine vote against the final bill, I don’t care much- who knows the details behind those decisions.
But one thing is sure: John Mica (R-FL-7th) needs to be given hell over what he’s done throughout today.

I noticed that story earlier. If the press would be just as obsessed with things like this and his “Uh, um what the uh, American people need to realize is uhh..” statements rather than engaging in a collective orgasm whenever he spoke, there wouldn’t be this myth about Obama the Great Orator.
