Former US president Bill Clinton mocked Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's lecturing of Western countries on the virtues of private enterprise on Thursday.
At the opening of the Davos forum on Wednesday, Putin gave an acid speech in which he stressed the faults of the US economic system and cautioned against state power -- a reference to US bank and insurance nationalisations.
"I'm glad to hear Prime Minister Putin come out for free enterprise. I hope it works for him," Clinton said to laughter in the conference hall here, poking fun at Putin's credentials on the subject.
The former Russian president presided over a transfer of power from the private sector to the state during his eight years as head of state,

We live in strange times. Who would have thought back at mid-century that a few decades later, Russia would be capitalist and the USA would be socialist?
I just enjoying watching Pooty-Poot and Bubba get under each other's skin. Putin is not and never has been scary. He's just a weasel with power. He never could have outfought Santino.
FYI Irony.
BTW, I think Bill Clinton would kick the crap out of Putin.
Then again, Putin was in the KGB, and Clinton fought Dick Morris to a draw, so who knows?

On those subjects, Putin has a point...
The supremacy of finance capital over all other forms of capital means the predominance of the rentier and of the financial oligarchy; it means that a small number of financially powerful states stand out among all the rest. The extent to which this process is going on may be judged from the statistics on emissions, i.e., the issue of all kinds of securities. - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin
Comic relief from the clown, Clinton. (he looks like he has a clown nose attached to his mug)
I don't know; as far as world leaders go, Putin seems to be in pretty good shape:
(Yes, I know he's holding his stomach in)
What a joke. No country has had more inflation and consumers spending like drunk sailors in a whore house than Russia under Putins reign.
I despise Clinton, but at least he is sort of defending the US here, something that Jimmy Peanuts would never do.
From Putin’s eloquent speech “In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the state’s role absolute. In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated.” Sad, but it does seem Putin is positioning Russia for success while America is being flushed down the toilet of socialism.
And Putin is well versed in the martial arts. He practices Karate and has also written a book on Judo. I think Bill Clinton, who always reminded me of the Pillsbury Dough Boy, would be creamed by Putin, despite their disparate heights.
Putin goes about 5'5" 160. The Former First Rapist is 6'3" and at least 240. Agreed that Putin is the tougher guy (he also survived a bombing assassination attempt. But in this case, he's just too far out of his weight class.
Speaking of weight classes, Juanita Broaddrick is about 5 feet tall and weighs 100 pounds.
