I swear, everyday I am beginning to believe more and more that his whole campaign started off as something like a Frat prank. Everything the man does is just a slap in the face.

And not for thee.

Turn your thermostat down, so he can turn his up.
Give so he may receive and redistribute your earnings.

Wagyu

‘Wagyu’ is Japanese for ‘japanese cow’ and refers to a black-haired breed that is known for having beautifully marbled flesh. It is very fashionable right now and referred to as the ultimate indulgence for beef lovers.

Wagyu beef is among the most expensive beef brands available, so unless you”re not not caught up in this economic crunch I would suggest not serving it very often. Wagyu steak was $53.00 a pound 5 years ago! The price for a good cut of wagyu starts at $120 for 5 ounces now.

Seriously, you could take a nice vacation for what a small dinner party would cost!

The recipe below is for 4 adults.

Obama Wagyu Steak Recipe

Ingredients:

* You will need a hot, flat grill
* Wok
* 4 pre-warmed ceramic platters
* 4 Wagyu steaks (rib-eye, porterhouse … your choice) 8 oz. size
* Your choice of exotic mushrooms, shitake, oyster, enoki … in the amount you prefer
* 3-4 spring onions (I prefer Vidalia or red), sliced
* Butter (amount varies according to taste)
* About 5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
* 1 Tablespoon finely chopped parsley
* 1 Tablespoon lime juice
* 1 clove garlic, chopped fine
* SEA salt to taste
* black pepper to taste
* 1 tablespoon finely chopped thyme

Directions:

The steaks need to be brought to room temperature prior to cooking! Season well with spices.

Preheat grill to medium.

Add small amount of butter and liberally sprinkle SEA salt on flat grill.

Sear steak on each side (add extra salt as you flip them over … sear for about 20 seconds).

Remove from grill for 3-5 minutes, return and loosely cover, cook to your preference (rare, medium, well).

While steaks are cooking, heat 2 tablespoons of oil in your wok and add mushrooms, spring onions and garlic. Stir occasionally until the mushrooms start to soften (about one minute). Add the herbs, lime juice and the remaining olive oil and season to taste with sea salt and black pepper. If there are any juices left from the steaks, add these to the mushrooms.

Put steaks on pre-warmed platters, cover with mushrooms and enjoy!

Note: You may also add oregano to the spices, however some think it overpowers the beef flavor … which you won’t want to miss!

Wagyu Kobe Beef Filets are $149 for 4 ounces or $596 a pound.

The site I found had Wagyu Kobe Beef Filets, 4 - 8oz. Portions for $149.00.

Prime Selection

Where did you get that price?

I expect them to cover until the bitter end.

And then if the truth ever comes out, they will claim they were blameless.

Actually, it's generally more than $100/lb.:

"Assuredly, Wagyu beef will cost a lot of money. It generally runs between 100-150 US dollars (USD) per pound (.45 kg), so proper cooking is essential. In Japan, it is not uncommon for Kobe or Wagyu beef to be sold in restaurants for the equivalent of about 300 (USD) per plate."

I would say he is behaving true to form, but some might construe that to be a racist statement.

So be it.

This from the couple that ordered lobster dinners and champagne during campaign?

The lobster and caviar dinner story was retracted by the paper that printed it (NY Post).
