Angry ‘Black’ Men: Unite and obliterate
The Laurel Leader-Call ^ | January 30, 2009 | Darryl Robertson

Posted on 01/30/2009 1:17:12 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

From the Black Panther Party to the Nation of Islam, to Marcus Garvey’s “Back to Africa Movement,” to the angry black male in Compton, to the low self-esteemed black female in Brooklyn, to the warehouse workers in Chicago, to the plodding assembly line workers deep down in Mississippi, blacks everywhere, with sound validity in some cases, have been irate at the “white man” for intensifying the black man’s plight. Even after generations of manumission, blacks have been plagued by overt racism, hate, suffered violence and aspersions by public figures of authority, anathematized and emotionally mentally, even physically garroted by whites who once used the Holy Bible as a defense for their practiced tyranny.

In those tumultuous times where tyrannical behavior subdued the black race, blacks had a reason to be irate. But as for my generation (’80s and ‘90s) we have no reason to be angry at anyone but ourselves. I opine that, in fact, we are angry at ourselves; angry because we fail to release our potential to fly away to the heights above, therefore, out of anger, and lax of mental fortitude, to fight against anger and use it as a conduit for gentrification. It is used to destroy communities, as well as ourselves, with ignorance and asinine deportment.

Unlike our stoic sires, God spared us of the physical, mental and emotional pangs of slavery and segregation. All we know of lynchings is what we see in movies and the pictures our imagination sets before our minds. All we know of “white only” bathrooms and water fountain signs is what we read in history books. We don’t withstand floggings for attempting to learn, or practicing the spelling of our name. We are not hauled to the cotton fields to plod free of charge. The ignorance we are exercising is our own doing. The “white man” is not forcing us.

From the depths of hell of earth, men like Frederick Douglas, W.E.B. DuBois, Macon B. Allen, Thurogood Marshall, among many others rose to heights equal to the cosmos leaving behind legacies that will last an eternity and we have the audacity to say that the white man is encumbering us. President (Lyndon) Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and 1968. We now live in a society beset with laws protecting against any wrong doing. We go to the same schools, study from he same books and learn from the same qualified teachers as our fellow white students. Yes, racism still exist, but it’s not as overt, the KKK is no longer burning crosses in our front lawns. Many blacks may not come from he same financial roots as some whites, but we are offered the same opportunities. In case you missed it, many whites elected an African-American President.

President Obama paved the median between Malcolm X and Dr. King. He’s that peace treaty between the KKK and Nation of Islam, he proved the futileness of hate of the opposite race, the bond between Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. DuBois. Also, he is that irate militant who uses education and prudence to fight.

Black men, we can no longer use the “white man” as an excuse to exercise poor discretion failing to unleash our potential.

Ida B. Wells, NAACP, Emmitt Till, the North Carolina students, Nat Turner, SCLC and the Black Panthers all served their purpose. President Obama is the outcome of all previous atrocities caused by race. He is the outcome of a dream deemed impossible and his purpose is to unite and obliterate angry men — black and white alike.

These are the people who are responsible for keeping racism alive and well.

I think their goal is an all out race/class war. Just like their bro’s in africa.

There is still tension and it is heightened right now.

I am a single white male, think Goldwater was a closet leftist, and have been on FR for almost 10 years.

I spent a long weekend with my part-time girlfriend and her family, extended family, and semi-adopted. They are of color.

For the first time in many years, I felt racial tension. There were racial comments made that were inappropriate.

I spoke my beliefs up front, everyone knows where I stand. I support MLK's vision of a nation where men are judged by the content of their character.

The weekend worked out ok. Tension is there, still. Respect also.

I spent a lot of time talking about the genocide that is abortion, and who that affects.

God help and bless us all.

Overlooks the victim economy..
Many perks to being a victim.. especially a perceived black victim..

Many blacks are not blacks at all.. they are mixed race..

There is a black "culture" though..
The american black culture is totally toxic..
It poisons everything it touches..

There is still a significant cultural divide. The solution to that is to hold your moral ground and reach out. Don't accept unacceptable behavior, but love your brother.

In that slow and sure way, healing occurs.

I am firm in that belief.

No, on the basis of skin color alone, blacks are offered superior opportunities: University scholarships, living costs, and grad school admissions, on the basis of performance that is "weighted" (even when it is inferior to that of other races). Ask any asian-american!

I was tracking right along with the author, until he started referring to Obama in glowing terms, and as some sort of “uniter”.

As a black man myself, the bulk of the author’s screed resonates with me. I, too, was privileged to be raised beyond the time of institutionalized racism and American apartheid.

My grand parents told stories of severe racial suppression from their youth that could send shivers up your spine. But, I never had to live through a day of that.

I was even more fortunate than most black kids of my day, in that I was raised within the protective cocoon of the US military, and lived in a racially integrated environment from the day I was born.

Because of that, I never developed that sense of “otherness” that so many black people suffer from. I’ve never been culturally individuated from other Americans because of my race, thank God.

But, in the 50-odd years since my birth, my childhood experience has become ever more common among black people.

I agree with the gist of what the author says, that there is nothing holding any black person back, except for themselves, and their belief in the existence of widespread racism and exclusion.

He is also correct that Obama could not have been elected without the votes of millions of white Americans. That one solitary fact puts the lie to the idea that racism is still a major problem in this country. It isn’t now, nor has it been, for a very long time.

Someone with Obama's genetics was/is necessary for many Americans to move beyond the socio-psychological barrier that is part and parcel of their belief system.

It is a shame that that along with those genetics is Obama's personal and political philosophy.

Our country's triumph via the color of his skin is in many ways a greater loss due to the content of his character and the clear and present danger of his beliefs.

May he soon experience an epiphany and reject his desire to remake our country as socialist. If not, may he experience defeat and rejection at the ballot box before that damage is done.

As long as the likes of je$$e jack$on, al $harpton , minister farrah-klan and the mullah wright are still out there whipping up a frenzy of white hate, blacks will feel justified in their rejection of the white man and his world.

It's going to take the minority who GET IT, like Mr. Robertson, aggressively shutting down these racist assh*les at every turn to free the minds of blacks from the chains their own have bound them in.

In that endeavor I wish them all good luck and G_d Speed!

I've had a few run ins with blacks on Machosauce’s Youtube videos spouting the very stuff this talks about!

All they want to do is rub my face in some junk my ancestors SUPPOSEDLY did to their ancestors, and how I should bow down to their way of thinking.

I never owned a black, I have no wealth created by slavery, and I sure as hell will fight to protect what I've earned by my own sweat!

"For the first time in many years, I felt racial tension. There were racial comments made that were inappropriate."

Don't kid yourself. This tension has been there all along, it was just suppressed. Apparently they now feel free to say what they've always felt about you.

Remember that black men sleeping with white women represents the black race rising up against 'the man'.

OTOH, white men sleeping with black women represents the continued oppression of the black race by 'the man'.

I wouldn't go back there if I were you, esp for a 'part-time' girlfriend. Might be an 'accident' waiting for you next time. JMO

All we are hearing is a loud clamoring for all this “stimulus” $$$ (PORK) to have jobs that ONLY go to BLACK contractors, BLACK workers, BLACK union members, etc, etc, etc,.

How much of the money that NObama is spending came from WHITE people of all socio-economic means, who have worked hard for years, stayed out of trouble, and never gave the Government any reason to doubt their willingness to share.

NOW- The ONE is in charge, and just listen to how they wish to “spend” all this money.

Judging by the content of his character I would hope he would unite angry individuals, black and white alike, who despise lies, criminality, collectivism, socialism. Judging his words and deeds (votes in the senate) color me...skeptical.

I AM a strong Hannity supporter and contrary to Barack's words, I would buy him a beer AND shake his hand for defeating Clinton Inc. (something I never thought possible)...but turning around and putting Bill's talking appendage and so many other Clintonista's in positions of power color me...skeptical.

OK article Vet (my rant notwithstanding). Thanks for posting. Thanks very much for serving.

Because of that, I never developed that sense of “otherness” that so many black people suffer from.

It’s just sad that the civil rights movement was hijacked by charlatans that have for the last 40 or so years preached and promoted “otherness” as something positive. An entire generation was regaled to poverty, drug abuse, fatherless homes, crime and despair all so a few “community organizers” could cash in.

I relish the day that a leader emerges in the black community who can speak truth to the legacy of lies that has so damaged such a large and important segment of my nation.

Bill Cosby is such a voice, but what is needed is a younger energetic leader. President Obama could fill such a role and the country would rally to him if he did but that would be antithetical to the Democratic Party’s plan to keep blacks on their inner city reservations.

I can’t understand why the Republican Party can’t see this potential. Conservative principals offer a stark contrast of real hope, real respect and real progress to the black and Hispanic communities and the RNC has done nothing to articulate it.

I think that people are sick of the lies and empty promises of the Democrats, everywhere they have total control there is total corruption, mismanagement and failed government. But the RNC is to PC to even mention it.

True.. but black american culture has zero moral ground.. except as much as its received judeo-christian moral structure.. And not all of that is above reproach either..

Morality in america seems to be on the slippery slope.. and is sliding down to bribery and graft.. with not a small part being due to black american culture.. and latin political apathy and selfishness.. Beyond western European socialism..

PUH-LEEEZE....

I live in North Texas, but I grew up in SoCal, and spent the next three decades there. The only racism out there is coming from minorities, friend.

And, as far as "other parts of the country"; where I live now is about as redneck as it comes, and not a single neighbor of mine has ever been anything but entirely welcoming to me and my family.

Sure, there are still people (of all races) in this country who are afflicted with the racism disease, but for all intents and purposes, institutionalized racism in America is a relic of the long distant past.

No offense, but you sound isolated and paranoid to me.
