I meant a new truck for my new boat. GM is looking good as far as paper. Do you think they can keep out of forced restructure?
“I might join them in Dubai. Its not a bad place!”
So long as you are not an Israeli, and don’t somehow offend the locals, you might be spared.
As Ron Burgandy so eloquently said when jumping into the lion’s den to save Vannessa Corngingstone:
“I immediately regrest this decision.”
“THEY LOST MONEY SELLING SEX!!!! How is that even possible?”
Govt pimps are the best paid on the planet. For tax purposes, monies paid to pimps is a write-off. So it’s easy to show a loss on the books.
Bambi will try to keep the UAW from getting what it deserves. The question is, can he best do that by keeping GM alive (along with the GMW gravy train for current punters), or by some other solution that involves "restructuring" (and leaves GMW worthless)?
I don't own GMW, but I do google it once in a while.
Well, it looks like you've learned just what community organizing is all about!

Again, if the fed.gov offered me billions to put into my company, I would be a fool not to take it. My competitor sure as heck will take the money. When I don’t, and he does, then he’s got a new private jet, meanwhile, I’m still flying coach.
Hey private sector! Say hello to your new bosses! You takes their money, you follows their rules.
Good points. The money they save on insurance premiums won’t go to the employees, rather to increase the yearly executive compensation...
The only problem I can see with your way is that the money they give you was taken from the tax payers. And under force of law and a go to prison card if they don’t pony up. I would rather fly coach....but thats just me..
“Think about this for just a moment. Our government tried their hand at running the “world’s oldest profession,” and they couldn’t do it and make a profit. THEY LOST MONEY SELLING SEX!!!! How is that even possible?”
As Milton Friedman put it so well, “If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in 5 years there’d be a shortage of sand.”
We shouldn’t be blaming the execs for taking the money. Taking the higher ground on principle would be foolish. To pass on the money, while your competitor accepts it, could give him the edge to push him over the top...leaving you and your company to suck hind tit.
Clearly, the blame belongs where it originated. We know where it orginated. The question is why? My fear is, that I might know why.
The corporate “idiots” do more good for America than 0 will ever do, but if they take government money, they will deserve the idiots that come with it. Maybe they can get dingbat Claire to throw in some perks, like 0 gets.

On principal I agree. But I can’t risk my competitor taking the money while I take the higher ground. For my employees and me, I would be negligent and stupid to not jump on the wagon to give us a fighting chance.
because all the customers were congress critters and they don't have to pay. It one of their perks....
The Senate couldn’t even run its own cafeteria.
The point is congress has determined to take the money from taxpayers. Nothing is going to change that. The monies will be distributed to designated entities. Many designated will be by request. Some will be forced against their will to accept the money, while others will be ignored no matter how much they beg.
If you are the CEO of a major corp, competing against another major corp in the same field, who you know will take the money, where does this leave you and your employees? To remain competitive, do you take the money or not?
