Democrats tasteless at inauguration
Letter to the Editor
Posted: 01/31/2009 12:00:00 AM PST
How utterly tasteless for Democrats to boo President Bush at the inauguration. The entire world leaned backwards to make this day one of triumphs for them. Have Republicans ever done this?
The least Democrats could have done was to remain silent, as those who wished to cheer President Bush for seven years with no terrorist attacks upon us did so. They showed no respect for the Bush family either.
Obama has promised transparency. Let's start with Nancy Pelosi, one of Bush's most caustic critics.
Her district includes San Francisco. Star Kist Tuna's headquarters are there. Star Kist is owned by Del Monte Foods, a major contributor to Pelosi. Star Kist employs 75% of the American Samoa workforce. Pelosi's husband owns $17 million of Star Kist stock.
In January, 2007 minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $7.25. Pelosi had American Samoa exempt so Del Monte would not have to pay it, making their products less expensive than competition.
When the huge bailout bill was passed Pelosi's "earmark" was $33 million dollars for "economic development credit" in American Samoa. Hipocrisy?

Pelosi screwed the Samoans by not letting them in on the minimum wage increase, but now wants to infuse them with $33 million.
Her husband owning $17 million in stock of Star Kist and 75% of Samoan's being employed by that company can't have anything to do with this, can it?

More and more I am thinking that its time to STOP paying taxes until the Government starts representing US instead of itself.

Ping—since you were talking about Nancy’s shady deals the other day.
To: Syncro
I think Nancy Pelosi needs to be investigated more. How does she and her family really make their money. Has she used her power and exactly how and where to enrich herself; her family and her friends or supporters/donators?
I am sure there is a some conflict of interest; maybe even some jailtime for Nancy.

Pelosi tried to put these items in the original bail out bill. Has she tried it again?

The next Boehner is in front of a camera and bank of microphone’s - he needs to call Pelosi out on this as a specific example of the Democrat pork and waste in this bill. To hell with playing nice-nice with these RAT’s - it never got us anywhere.

That’s exactly what I told my boss last week - to find a legal way to stop witholding state and federal taxes and bring the government to a halt.

Only way I can think of is to stop paying taxes, but unless several millions of us do that, it would not work. We would just get in trouble, only with overwhelming numbers would it have any effect with out exposing anyone.

Hum, is there a law that forces employers to do so? Yea I guess there is, they have to file it with business taxes. Hum. Rigged system.... golly, and we all thought it was a convenience. Oops. Yea, well, it would have to be that individuals would have to ask their employer to only with hold the portion that the Employers have to pay, and all the rest goes to the employee.... maybe claiming 50 dependents or something like that..... Hard to believe I am even thinking about this.

its time to STOP paying taxes But then that wouldn't be patriotic would it. Since the Congress goes to such extraordinary lengths to patriotically spend our tax money the very least you can do is to pay it patriotically.

Patriotic to what? An unconstitutional Government or the concept of The United States of America. Because America is NOT her Government. Apparently the Government has forgotten this.
