Tommy Lee's helicopter pilot detained for DUI

Sunday, February 1, 2009

Rocker Tommy Lee's helicopter pilot has been detained on suspicion of DUI after flying too close to a police helicopter and ignoring direction from a flight tower.

Los Angeles police spokeswoman Officer Karen Smith says a helicopter buzzed the police chopper near Van Nuys Sunday morning.

Smith says the pilot then failed to follow directions given to him by the Van Nuys Airport flight tower.

The pilot was released without arrest after a field sobriety test and investigation. Smith says the matter now falls to the Federal Aviation Administration to decide after toxicology test results come back.

Motley Crue drummer Lee was a passenger, and was released immediately.

Just the scent of Tommy Lee would cause someone to register a DUI!

That guy is some kind of nasty.

I prefer to be around people that are intoxicated, myself. Just not my pilots.
