Liam Neeson's CIA thriller "Taken" bumped off "Mall Cop" at the weekend box office, raking in $24.6 million and helping fuel the first $1 billion January in Hollywood history.

"Taken" follows Neeson as a former CIA operative trying to track down a group of kidnappers who want to sell his daughter into the sex slave trade.

"We are thrilled. It's an all-audience movie," said 20th Century Fox distribution executive Bert Livingston.

"When people come out they are going to talk about it. I think it's going to play for a long time."

'Taken' is a good movie, and I recommend it. (PG-13)

Absolutely!

This movie was amazing, and I love the fact that it was politically incorrect (REALISTIC) regarding the villains.

Amazing movie, and it flowed very well!

Hollywood (for some strange reason) really has their act together this year.

I loved Gran Torino, Defiance, Valkyrie and Taken.

Great movie. This guy made Jack Bauer look like a .... word that I can’t say here. No mercy, no trials...

No kidding.

Liam Neeson was in top form.

He wasn't playing around at all.

Loved every minute of it, especially the conclusion to the chase scene outside the airport terminal.

We took my 87 yr old mother who’s in a wheelchair. She usually falls asleep in movies, but she was wide awake in this one! She really liked it.

You’re welcome! We actually had to sit way down in front because the theater was so crowded.

I predict the liberals and pacifists over at MSNBC will be wringing their hands over this movie.

This movie was recommended by a FRiend. Between that & the trailers, Eaker & I will be heading to the movie theatre next weekend (last movie we saw in the theatre was Passion of The Christ).
