Could consider a filibuster limited to a short duration (days). Just enough time to hammer on the most egregious manifestation of Dem pork in the bill.

Too long, and Pravda will just bombard them with “shutting down gov’t” and “stopping the recovery”—etc.

They need to filibuster in the traditional sense - spend day after day explaining on the floor of the Senate why the gigantic pork bill is bad for the country. They need to alternate attacks between individual stupid items in the bill (condoms are gone, but there are many, many more stupid items) and the foolishness and irresponsibility of any bill that size. This is a great opportunity for the GOP to speak up when they are clearly in the right and can explain why they are right, and their words will make the news. Unfortunately, McCain is a lot like the PLO, he never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
