Its her life, and the kids are her responsibility. “

How does that square up with SSI paying $600 per child per month from the moment of birth to each and every one of their individual deaths?????
Obsessed Momma will get $4800 a month tax-free for a very long time.
The overall physical and mental health of these kids is far from having been evaluated yet, also.
That might qualify for even more money to her.
I don’t call that “her responsibility”.
I call that the taxpayers getting shafted.

THIS IS SOOO COOL.
Three reasons this is good.
1. We don’t have to pay for her zillion kids.
2. The members of the view can once again look like dopes.
3. She can afford to have zillions more kids.

Every one should be happy, this is a perfect deal.

What are you talking about? Why do you think the mom will get 4800 per month? The article was about the mom getting 2 million from Oprah for giving her story. That would go a long way in supporting all the kids...at least until they are in school and mom can work. I don’t know what you are talking about.

She won’t go on welfare. But the same idiots who pay taxes will willingly support her by buying US and InTouch magazines, the products advertised on Entertainment Tonight, and Oprettah, and so on. Same difference, doncha think? Or call it private enterprise welfare!

Thanks. First time I’ve seen any mention of a Palestinian connection. Though it’s not clear whether the octuplets’ mother, or grandmother have any Palestinian connection, or how much of a connection the grandfather really has. Lots of sane people have the area known as Palestine over the past few decades, so he may even have been taken out of there by his parents when he was very young. A lot of the early media reports seemed to suggest he was a native Iraqi, or at least had lived there before coming to the US, and one FReeper who had worked with Kurds immigrating to the US said Suleman was a fairly common name among that ethnic group.

There’s definitely no indication that these people are practicing Muslims, much radical jihadist sympathizers. If they were the latter, Nadya would have been killed a long time ago to save her father’s “honor”. Instead, he’s knocking himself out working to finance his daughter’s very unconventional lifestyle, and apparently approving of his wife spending huge amounts of time providing free child care to support Nadya’s ever-expanding brood. It looks like both the parents are allowing their adult daughter to run their lives — not something any sort of religious Muslim would do.
