"even as budget shortfalls force cuts in education, health care and other services."
LOL! The teachers, nurses and social workers rule every American locale with iron fists. And what companies? Get with me next winter on that.

Not Hawaii, they're talking about raising them. Hawaii is the bottom of the barrel for “business friendly” of any state you can name. I believe they actually get a kick out of seeing you go under. Of course this is a Democrat/Liberal/idiot run state. The Gov. Linda Lingle is a Republican, one of the very very few in all government here and she is a RINO. The Mayor of Maui County, where I live, is a full on imbecile and is ruining business on this island.

It’s becoming a novel idea, in a way. If you check out some of the other econ threads, all a Dem has to do is slap the title of “Buy American” on a pork bill and some ostensible conservatives fall over themselves to prove how “patriotic” they are.

My whole premise in calling it a novel idea was to emphasize the fact that it has been a republican idea since Reagan and before. I guess I should have ended with the /s. My bad. ; -)
Even though the Buy American addition was something I had never really thought of. Thanks.
