Pros of Jimmy Carter:
He gave us the Gipper. For someone with complete control of congress, he didn’t do nearly the amount of liberal damage that LBJ did by massively expanding entitlements.
Bads: He made the middle east the ****hole it continues to be today, almost destroyed the economy, and was the most organizationally dysfunctional president of the last century.

The statement by Carter belies his claim to be a Christian. It drips of hatred for the whole truth.

I've know people from scores of brands of Christianity and have never once heard any of them making a statement even close to this. Is there anyone from even a tiny obscure sect who can collaborate what Jimmy says here. Isn't Jimmy a faux Baptist? Don't the Baptists believe (with most of Christendom) that the Jews will recognize Jesus as the Messiah when he comes the second time?
Or is Jimmy just playing the "moral equivalence" game again? (i.e. believing = actually killing)
He is a primo example of the narcissistic personality, grown old, after attaining an incredible seat of power and wilting do to lack of genuine courage and perspective.

Where’s this from? Most Christian groups think that Christ’s return is depicted in Zechariah chapter 12—at which he fights for Israel and Israel sees the one they have pierced, mourn for him, and he gives them victory over all their surrounding enemies (like a messiah should).
There’s no sect outside of the Aryan Brotherhood which says that all the Jews will be dead or converts to Christianity before Christ returns.

Where do you think that Carter could have gotten that idea? Do you think that he made it up out of whole cloth, or is there some sort of weird sect that believes that sort of thing?
I know of no Christian church or denomination that believes that. That doesn’t mean that there may be some out there on the fringes that do, but no where in the Bible does it actually say or infer such a thing.
So, I think he either made it up or repeated something he had been told by someone making it up that he believed (and of course wouldn’t know any better since he probably has never read or researched it). Probably one of his Islamic terrorists friends told him that in defense of their beliefs and of course Jimmy took their word for it, just like he took their word for all the other stuff they allegedly told him.

I just looked up this idiocy and I think that Carter is misinterpreting Paul. Paul talks about the Jews rejecting Christ as part of God’s plan to save the world. He says that before Christ returns again, for the final judgment, the elect Christians as well as the elect Jews will be called to him.
So, Carter is excusing his support of Hamas by thinking that the “elect Jews” will be “dead”? No, that’s not right, the bad Jews will be dead and the good Jews will be Christian. So, it appears that Carter does not believe in an after life, but believes in other prophesies.
I’ve been looking it up, and it appears to be a perversion of Paul’s words in Romans. Paul is explaining his ministry to the Gentiles and the fact that it doesn’t mean that God has forgotten his promise to the Israelites. He says that the elect (chosen, maybe?) Jews will be gathered up to join him, as well as the elect Christians (there’s that word again) before Christ’s second coming.
We know that all socialists love Paul. Jimmy Carter is a socialist. These Paul acolytes don’t believe in life after death, so to Jimmy Carter, the Jews will be dead. He just substituted “all” for “elect”.

As I noted before, I was struck by Jimmah's use of Mahmoud Abbas' terrorist nom de guerre, Abu Mazen, when referring to him. Someone need to tell him that's not for use in the west, only when hanging out in Ramallah.

It sounds rather clear to me that true Christians and true Jews will be allies in the last days. It doesn't address what will become of faux Christians and faux Jews.
So Jimmy's idiotic statement appears to be not only inconsistent with what Baptists believe, but also inconsistent with one of the prophets of the Old Testament.
