Pat Robertson: Dividing Jerusalem a Call for War of Armageddon

IsraelNN.com) Christian preacher Pat Robertson has warned that the Biblical prophecy of the Battle of Armageddon will take place in Jerusalem if the next government agrees to divide the city to allow the Palestinian Authority to take over the eastern sections.

The Biblical references to Armageddon are subject to wide interpretation but have become a central theme in Christian thinking. The reference is commonly thought to be above the plain of Megiddo, in the Lower Galilee between the Mediterranean Coast and the Jordan Valley.

Christians prophesy that the "Battle of Armageddon" will come at the "end of times" and will herald its concept of the messiah.

Robertson said on the Christian Broadcast Network (CBN) this week that the Battle of Armageddon is "not going to be fought at Megiddo" but will be the "Battle of Jerusalem" when "the forces of all nations come together and try to take Jerusalem away from the Jews."

He predicted that the world will demand that Israel give up its sovereignty over the city and that the government of Israel will refuse. "Jews are not going to give up Jerusalem - they shouldn't," he said.

Robertson also revealed that he has been in contact with Likud party chairman Binyamin Netanyahu, who is favored in the polls to lead the next government. He said that Netanyahu reiterated his promise that the capital is non-negotiable.

Netanyahu, a former prime minister, recently warned that terrorists would target the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in eastern Jerusalem if Arabs were to take control of the area, which Jordan closed off to non-Muslims when it occupied the area until the Six-Day War in 1967.

Dividing the city will "incur a chain reaction we can't even envision," Netanyahu said. "We will witness an escalation of religious conflict above and beyond the regional conflict we have now."

CBN also interviewed former Jerusalem Police commander Mickey Levy, who stated, "Read the Bible. Three thousand years ago, Jerusalem belonged to us as a nation. It is our capital. It is the Jewish heart. It belongs to us. We can't live without Jerusalem."

Levy warned that giving part of the capital to the Palestinian Authority would lead to "something like what is happening right now in Gaza."

My bible says that the armies of the WORLD will surround the city of Jerusalem, and then the faithful in the city should flee. But multinational armies have surrounded the city from time to time, so...

He’s basing his remarks on Scripture. I’m sure others will question whether his interpretation is correct; time will tell.

I think phoenetic spelling is buffoonery, myself. What, exactly, do you have a problem with, that Pat Robertson is quoted as having said in this article?

“Pat Robertson told CNN’s Suzanne Malveaux that he was pleased as punch with the election of Barack Obama. “I am remarkably pleased with Obama. I had grave misgivings about him. But so help me, he’s come in forcefully, intelligently.”

Anybody this far out of touch with common decency and any concern for the unborn and newly born is has serious credibility problems. He SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF! Obama believes in letting newborns die of exposure if their “mommies” want them dead. Robertson is a total disgrace!

Sorry about the misspelling.

Here is where whatever he says loses all credibility. “Pat Robertson told CNN’s Suzanne Malveaux that he was pleased as punch with the election of Barack Obama. “I am remarkably pleased with Obama. I had grave misgivings about him. But so help me, he’s come in forcefully, intelligently.”

Just this quote is enough to make me realize that he’s a moral cripple. You can’t be in league with someone who thinks that newborns should be murdered if their “mothers” want them dead. Sorry. I don’t pay any attention to any words that come out of his mouth.

"People still listen to this babbling bafoon? "

That's an interesting characterization.
Would you also say he's a mumbling moroon?

While I believe in the end times prophesies, having someone with zero credibility like Pat Robertson comment on it doesn’t exactly help. This guy has made more cuckoo pronouncements than Louis Farakkhan.

Yeah - I’ll go out on a limb and say that the end of days will be totally focused on Israel and the Old City. But then, I’m really daring like that....

"Pat Robertson says....."

Yes, that's about the point I zone out of the conversation.

Much of the detailed information in Christ’s discourse at Olivet (Matthew 24) relates to the sacking of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 AD. His followers knew to flee the city because He had spoken quite clearly about the destruction of the city and the signs of its impending doom (Luke 20).

“What he says here is true IMO.”

Sorry, I do agree that what he says is true. But I don’t pay any attention to anything he says for even a second anymore . . . same thing with Billy Graham after he said he thought that Hillary would be a good president . . . this being said about someone involved in theft of over $100,000 of government property, over 900 FBI files, character and career assassination of innocent people, perjury, etc. She’s also tops in the pro-death movement against our unborn.

Therefore, my panties get bunched up whenever I hear these “preachers” talk about anything. They have NO credibility with me.

But multinational armies have surrounded the city from time to time, so...

This particular multinational army is different than the ones that have been raised in the past.

First off the army will number about 230 MILLION. It will consist specifically of a number of nations identified in the book of Revelation as those nations allied under one group called "GOG" and another called "MA-GOG." These are commonly referred to as Russia and China along with the 10 EU nations that will comprise the power base of Satan (AntiChrist) It will be personally led by the Ruler of this World, known to Christians as antichrist. The battle will occur at the end of a seven year period known as the Tribulation for the first 3.5 years and the GREAT Tribulation for the latter 3.5 years. Something like half to three quarters of the planet's population will already be dead from the wrath God will have poured out onto the earth as punishment for worshiping the AntiChrist as a "god." The oceans of the world will have turned to blood. Literally, blood.

Now sometime prior to that event there will be another event which may presage the entrance of antichrist onto the world stage: GOG will launch a massive invasion of Israel. According to the prophesy foretold in Ezekiel 38 & 39 not one hair on the children of God will be harmed during this massive attack and the invading armies will be defeated without any human raising a hand in defense. It will be unmistakable that the hand of God Almighty defeated the enemies of HIS children. This is notable because a resurgent Russia is indeed taking back bases in the middle east as this is written. Might these bases form the staging areas for such an invasion? Another important prophesy that might be in a countdown mode right now is the one in Isaiah 17 where it describes the city of Damascus being laid waste so that no stone sits atop another stone. Within the last few days Israeli politicians and high ranking generals have said that Israel is on a collision course with Syria.

One more vital event has to occur before the Tribulation: God has promised HIS faithful that they will be shielded from this ordeal. In the blink of an eye they will be transformed and taken into heaven for a party lasting seven years while Hell unfolds on Earth. This is called the Rapture of the Church. It is an event that will come as a thief in the night. Nobody will be able to predict the exact moment. But it says in the Bible that it happens during a period of relative calm and prosperity. The single biggest factor is a universal "falling away" of Christians. They will be hounded and hated almost as much as the Jews have always suffered. Nobody will defend the Christians or their faith. If you look at WORLD NET DAILY you can see story after story detailing this phenomenon right now.

That period of relative economic calm is one reason why I don't really worry that the bottom is going to drop out from our economy, right now. But what will happen to this country when the tax base of about 100 MILLION Christians suddenly vanishes from the face of the Earth all at once and permanently? That event will bring this country to it's belly to kiss the feet of AntiChrist & worship him as god.

Of course there is a way out so that YOU don't have to face this supreme calamity: Turn your soul over to Christ, right now. Just admit that you're a sinner separated from Christ, acknowledge that Christ died on the cross for your sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart. Bingo. That's all. Just turn from your path and follow Jesus. Simple. But hard, too. Hard to give control over your life and really mean it. But worth it. Wanna know how much? RAPTURE READY?

Christian Persecution. Here is a great example of some of what I said in my last post.
