Do you recall the time Howie had a segment on social security? At least I believe that was the topic. In any case, a man called in who had worked all his life as a teacher but was now disabled and who was being given the run around by the SS office. The poor soul was is serious trouble and no one was helping him. Howie finished off the call wishing him luck.

Next day, different topic and who calls in but the same man practically in tears. Howie had called someone and fixed the situation. I can't imagine what he said or did but in one day the man's problem was gone. The teachers tearful thanks was something I'd not heard on talk radio before. Howie ended the call professionally acknowledging the thanks but wasn't interested in bringing praise to himself.

Howie may claim he is a callous man but the listeners know better.

not sure I remember that but there have indeed been calls like that on HC’s show once in awhile! And for those like me who’ve met Howie at remotes (gas station in Saugus) and
book signings (Paper Store in Beverly), we know he’s a nice
and decent man. He did the right thing!

Amazing. If they had called a liberal talk show host then they would have been instructed to go to get assisted suicide.
