War On Terror: Charges against the mastermind behind the bombing of the USS Cole are dismissed. He will be retried, but not by a military commission that would have given him the death penalty he deserves.
The dismissal was politically necessary to clear the detainee docket at Guantanamo and facilitate the promised closing of the prisoner-of-war facility. The decision certainly pleases the ACLU, which argued that charges should be dropped altogether because he had been one of the three Gitmo detainees "tortured" by waterboarding.
The decision likely does not please the families of the Cole crew members who were killed. They met with President Obama on Friday. Family members of the 9/11 victims were also present.
The White House announced the president wanted "to talk with these families about resolving the issues involved with closing Guantanamo Bay while keeping the safety and security of the American people as his top priority."

She regrets having voted for the arrogant pos that occupies the People's House
The so-called, “Commander in Chief” freed the murderer of these 17 sailors today. America. We have a problem.
Who is this one-celled being that most of America never heard of but obviously has a lot of authority on our behalf even though he/she/it never asked us.
Wonder if Obama will find a way to “silence” those pesky families.
If she voted for him, she is getting exactly what she asked for. And she is going to be one of millions with buyer’s remorse.
The one-celled being is trying to keep her job and get a promotion.
But unfortunately because of those idiots who voted for him the whole country has to suffer
This country isn’t the only one that will suffer while he lets these demons free to roam the world. The entire planet who sucked this man off will start burning dolls of his likeness in the streets when these evil monsters wreck havoc all over the place. But gee, it was history watching him screw up his swearing in and Oprah’s so happy she’s crying her lashes off so who cares about the reality of this vile man and what he is doing. Karma baby it will come full circle.
Not to defend our butthole and chief, he didnt free him, just put him on the back burner for later prosecution.
If she voted for obama then she deserved what she got.
As far as I am concerned, the idiots that voted for him and are crying about what he is doing or has done can go cry on someone else’s shoulder that cares. I don’t.
She wanted him. She got him. Now she can live with it.
Obamme all show and no substance...I think it would be right to simply shoot all the bad guys in Gitmo than let them go.
Something smells rotten. The connection between terrorist-pardoner AG Eric Holder’s law firm, and Yemenis held at Gitmo, should be a BIG story. It’s getting obscured by the Porkulus.

He asked the Judge to hold off for four months, the judge refused this was Obamas solution to force the situation. The criminal is still in jail and will remain there until Obama decides how he wants to proceed with this case.
Finally. A voice of reason here. We can certainly disagree with the decision to have a 120 day review and close Guantanamo in a year but in terms of this particular case they had to go the route of dropping the charges (dropped "without prejudice" which, in legal terms, means charges can be refiled at a later date). This guy was going to be arraigned on Monday and it could have been a case of "double jeopardy" if the Obama admin. had, after the 120 day review, declared that he (and all others) needed to be tried in some other way. THEN he would have gone free.
This was Clinton’s idea: international affairs conducted by the FBI. Now we see where it leads....although we always knew.
Remember the Cole.
Well by seeing his nominations to cabinet positions who would be surprised by his turning terrorists free.
ditto! what an idiota...
The mastermind is being deprived of his “right” to “speedy” justice.
