So True. I lived in Bradford and Altoona. What sneakers is
saying is 100% correct. McPalin almost took PA. It was Philly that Fracked it up for them. Pa has a lot of Reagan democratics in the state.

I actually lived for many years in Mass before abandoning it for New Hampshire.

But I was a *conservative* abandoning the liberal sinkhole, not one of the Massholes simply looking for a tax dodge.

At the time, NH better reflected my beliefs, and it was getting embarrassing to live in a state that elected scumbuckets like Kerry and Kennedy (both of whom I’d heard much about through the insider grapevine).

But I do know quite a few property owners from Mass - some friends, some acquaintance - and sorry to say most of them are latte decaf liberals from Newton, Wellesley, Sudbury, Boston, and (worst of all) Cambridge. It makes them “feel good” to see NH go Democrat and to adopt the mores of “social justice and equity”, just as the Chinese see Tibet becoming “less primitive and antiquated” under the repressive boot of the People’s Liberation Army.

Anyway, it’s sad to see NH go under.

Bumping what you said, McGowan:

Speaking of the Fourth Amendment:

Why is it a violation of the Fourth Amendment that cries to heaven for vengeance, if the CIA, FBI, or NSA listens to the telephone call of a non-citizen who is a terrorist,

but NOT a violation of the Fourth Amendment if the government grabs my COMPLETE MEDICAL HISTORY, and scans and digitizes it, and uses it to take control of my medical care?

Congress can apparently stretch any statement to cover any cause they see fit. Maybe the problem is with the politicians?

Yes, and as long as We, the People continue to believe campaign rhetoric and continue to reelect them it will continue.

Great news! I highly doubt that my state (NM) will do anything like that as long as that pig Richardson is still our king.

I have a question that maybe someone can help me with? IF a state secedes that state won't need the Sin_ators and congressmen/women in DC any more will they? Can you see where I'm going with this? LOL! What better way to dump the traitors who have sold us down the river!! THAT would be hilarious! ;o)

So far, eight states have introduced resolutions declaring state sovereignty under the Ninth and Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, including Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Washington.

Analysts expect that in addition, another 20 states may see similar measures introduced this year, including Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Nevada, Maine and Pennsylvania.

20-50 years is too long for a massive demographic shift.
I prefer to see and participate in a much quicker shift of individual capitalists and our creativity from blue states to red states, like in the next 2 to 4 years.
Especially if this trillion-dollar boondoggle passes b/c that’ll confound, confuse and infuriate Ogabe and his army of zombies(wasting taxpayer bucks should create zero job growth in Ogabe territories/counties/states).
Half the battle is psychological, the other half, physical.

Mama, as I have always understood the Commerce Clause, it was there to give FedGov the authority to tell New York that it cannot impose a duty on goods coming in for sale from Pennsylvania or a tariff on goods being transshipped from Vermont through New York into Pennsylvania. In other words, to ensure a level field with respect to State GOVERNMENT actions involving trade and protectionism at that level. The Founders NEVER intended that Congress or the Executive have authority to ban goods, to impose any sort of regulation of BUSINESS or industry whatsoever. It was only to ensure the STATES THEMSELVES played fair.

Meanwhile, they are all clamoring for their own teat to draw from under the great Porkulus Maximus!

This is an interesting development, but you make a very good point. One of the main reasons for federal encroachment on the states is the federal funding the states accept.

According to the Tax Foundation (my favorite website): Of the eight states that introduced resolutions, five are beneficiary states: states that receive more in federal spending than they pay in federal taxes. The exceptions are Michigan, New Hampshire, and Washington which pay more into Washington than they receive in return. (Based on 2005 data, but it probably hasn't changed much.)

Of the other states listed who are expected to introduce similar measures, all are beneficiary states, except California, Colorado, and Nevada.

I'm glad to see all of these states assert their right to sovereignty. But, isn't it ironic that the states that typically receive more from Washington are the ones introducing these measures? You'd think the states that pay more into Washington would wise up; they should be the ones calling for sovereignty.

Nope, we just need to beat the feds over the head with original intent... Commerce among the several States means the ENTITIES of the States, or State governments.

Bingo, MamaTexan. Frickin' Bingo.

Exactly right, and that's why she said "ENTITIES" - to indicate the corporate States alone.

...the blue portions were only in large city areas where populations could be easily controlled and directed to vote. Strange.

Not really. The taxes to maintain city infrastructure and services must be huge, at least until the pork barrel is opened up. Pork barrel promises buy votes, and cities are ripe for that. City folks tend to be more apt to rely on service providers than do for themselves as well. (City water, sewer, garbage collection, snow removal, police, etc... )

Just in time.. thank GOD I live in Arizona a Republican state! Barbara Boxer is demanding Obama immediately hand the "power over U.S. sovereignty to the United Nations as soon as possible by urging the State Department to come out in support of the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). "

http://www.redstate.com/warner_todd_huston/2009/02/07/boxer-urges-quick-handover-of-us-power-to-un/

Remember Boxer and Hillary are tighter than thieves, I still remember the speech Hillary made campaigning for Boxer four years ago where she basically said we have to take from the rich to give to the poor (this was in San Francisco).......
