I have a really, really hard time believing that 600,000 Americans enjoy such evil.
People of faith being wimps and even more, thinking that being wimps is somehow serving God, is the reason we are where we are today. And that goes for people of any religion, the same moral absolutes are there, they are universal. [leaving aside Muslims, I am very intolerant of them.]
Out of my friends and relatives, I can think of at least eight or nine who were sexually molested, including being raped, as children. Not as adolescents, as children. This is just off hand. They all have had lifelong problems, some overcome better than others.
I do not know eight or nine who were killed or maimed in auto accidents as children.
Your use of the words “hysteria and handwringing” is disgusting; you are saying that people people get all unnecessarily worked up about child pornography; over reacting.
Well I’ll tell you how I’d like to react - kill the fiends who produce, sell and use child pornography. No more problem. They deserve death; the shame is that our civilization has forgotten how to protect the innocent and punish the wicked.
You can't put much faith in "police estimates". They're always exaggerated to create a panic atmosphere in which politicians will throw money at the problem. That means they can hire more cops, buy more and better equipment, and basically live large off the taxpayer's dime. As budgets tighten, you will see more and more of this sort of "fund us or else" fear mongering.
You know a lot more people who’ve been sexually molested than me. Are you just including close friends and family or also people you know casually? I’ve had several close family members killed and maimed in auto accidents, but I can only think of two friends I know that were improperly touched as children.
Not that it matters. I think pedophiles should be sterilized or put to death, so we don’t really disagree on the proper treatment for pedos. I just think it’s interesting how life gives us different experiences and how it forms our impressions of how widespread things are. Personally, I find it very hard to believe that there are so many people in the US who enjoy child porn.
Apologizies. The way I worded that first sentence made it ambiguous. I meant that you know more people who’ve been molested than I have. I was not molested in any form as a kid.
No need for apologies, I think...
Maybe it’s because people tell me things... that they don’t tell other people. Thank God, I was not molested.
As to the number of people into child porn, I have no way of knowing if that number is accurate or not. Any number is too many, and it is undoubtedly in the at least tens of thousands. I would assume agencies tasked with tracking down these scum would know the best.
And of the ones that voted, I betcha most of them voted for Obama.
Erotoxins?? Please...there is a problem, but this shrill exaggeration sounds like something PETA would put out.
You can only read so many scriptures to an atheist. After awhile, you need to take “other action” (if you don’t take “other action”, you’ll end up where we are today.
No point in preaching to people who hate God, it doesn’t do them any good and in fact is offensive, by trying to force belief on them.
What they need is proper punishment.
There are the ignorant/uninformed/misinformed masses of the world, and then there is evil. The first 3 are salvagable, the latter can only be dealt with by passionately putting a bullet in their head.
There was a point where you could inadvertantly download "child porn" if you visited the British news site "The Sun". The Sun had a "Page 3" featuring a nice-looking female person posing topless. Unfortunately for US readers, in the UK it was legal for a 17 year old girl to pose topless. I think they fixed that for the benefit of US readers.
