'Nobody Knows The Outcome, So The Most Important Thing Is Speed'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 02/08/2009 9:19:20 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Who cares if we're like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, careening in his pickup toward the brink of the rock quarry? At least we're moving fast!

That seemed to be Claire Shipman's logic in urging speed in the implementation of the stimulus plan. The ABC correspondent made her curious comment today during the roundtable segment of This Week.

CLAIRE SHIPMAN: I think that, I mean as George [Will] said, given that nobody knows the outcome, it seems as though the most important thing is speed here.

Will made the logical response.

Shipman exposes the inanity of the porkulus.

Democrats have no plan other to spend until bankrupt.

Oh, and the interesting thing is, we do know. We have the New Deal to instruct us along with the tax cutting done by JFK, Reagan and Bush. We know what works to improve the economy, and it isn’t government spending

Claire must have gone to one of those elite schools where they teach deconstructed history where up is down.

George Stephanopoulos tried to defend his phone buddy Rahm Emanuel's plan.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: "Even the critics of the first bail-out say that the alternative very well could have been worse because we could have had an absolute collapse of the market".

Note to Prof. Reich: once you've wasted a trillion or so, your ability to try other options is kind of limited.

These people are really dumber than a box of rocks. How long do ya think it’ll take ‘em to start pitching a new, even bigger stimulus after this one becomes law? My guess is within 6 months.

Didn’t they all furrow their brows and shake their pointy little heads when they said that bush rushed us into a war with Iraq without having an exit plan? How was that any different then what they are doing now with the porkulous plan?

Speed is all important to this administration because the more they debate the stimulus the more people will find out what is really going on.

While Claire Shipman’s remarks were appalling, just listen to the outrageous remarks by Barney Frank on Meet the Press today. Frank was attempting to equate Republicans long term increases on military spending and national defense, with the Democrats current “stimulus” package of pork barrel socialism.

Frank and his liberal comrades don’t see the defense of America as a Constitutional duty, but national socialism is just fine by them. Old Barney thinks Marx trumps Jefferson. LOL

Know how you make bad decisions all the time? Well, your boy is making bad decisions for all of us in your name.

You leeches have avoided the wrath of the productive for too long. That doesn't make sense because you bums are the problem and would make such easy marks. It would take little effort to magnify the despair in your pitiful, thieving lives.

“How long do ya think it’ll take ‘em to start pitching a new, even bigger stimulus after this one becomes law? My guess is within 6 months.”

Hence the need for speed on this Package. There is another one waiting in the lineand probably many more to come. Can’t let them get backed up, LOL

Liberals have no idea where they're going, but they insist on hitting the gas. Incapable of defining the purpose, they propose to redouble the effort.

In truth, they know what their "purpose" is, and it's not what they want people to believe it is. The only true purpose of liberalism is power.

I’ve heard others try to make the comparison too when they scoff and say how much spending the Bush Administration did, and I am always yelling that a lot of the spending (don’t know the percentages) IS TO PROTECT THIS COUNTRY...drives me mad listening to these imbeciles.

"We better hurry up before all support goes away!"

There is almost no 'support' now. The telephone calls and emails to congress are running 10-1 against. The senators that will vote yes are doing so with the sure knowledge that they are smarter than their constituents. To hell with them.

Let me muse on this at the personal level...

Our family is heavily in debt and paying over 20% of our annual before tax income on credit card interest alone. My wife has just lost her job and my hours have been cut back. So, the solution is to buy a bunch of unneeded stuff, give 93% of my weekly paycheck to my lazy, shiftless neighbors, and load up the credit cards some more?

Why does the purveyor of such nonsense insist "nobody knows the outcome but the most important thing is speed" in doing so?

Can anyone help me out here?

A box of rocks could compose a symphony compared to these fools. Just yesterday I said to my husband that I’m confident I could make better decisions than most of them, and that doesn’t speak to my ego but rather to their ineptitude.

Question - how many of us rush right through the biggest expenditures in our lives without research and review? As opposed to taking the time to carefully scrutinize every detail of lesser payouts?

I tell you what, I spent weeks fine-tuning my last grocery list, but signed my life away for my house without reading a word of that huge stack of paperwork. After all, who has time to look at all that fine print? Shouldn’t we just trust the seller to provide a worthy product and the lender to not sneak any crippling provisions into the contract? No time for silly things like common sense and prudence.

And Obama’s the loudest one complaining about how we have to get this done NOW NOW NOW and shame on you unpatriotic Republicans dragging your feet and hurting the American people!

Although unfortunately, I think a decent number of them (Obama included) don’t act out of their own stupidity but what they perceive to be that of the average citizen - some of them know exactly where this is headed, and they’re all for it.

“it seems as though the most important thing is speed here.”

Bingo. I heard a TV analyst call the porkulous another Dem fast ball past the voters. The Dems was their corrupt pork passed before voters know what hit them.

Also, heaven forbid improving economic numbers come in before it’s passed.

Left alone, the economy would heal itself.

What they are afraid of is what happened with the Bush bailout. They (the DEMOCRATS) pushed hard and fast for the Paulsen plan to be approved: NOW, within a week or the market WILL collapse.

They saw approval ratings dropping by the day and it was full-court press to get this thing done before they had any checks or balances, before the people knew what was happening, before the people could criticize and revolt at the poles!

They want to get this done so that they can start the spin on who to blame so that they can keep their jobs in two years!

FEAR, FEAR, FEAR! NOW, NOW, NOW!!
