A car bomb has exploded in a business district of Madrid, following a telephone warning claiming to be from ETA, the Basque armed separatist group. No one was hurt in the blast, which destroyed about 30 cars and blew out windows at nearby offices, leaving a crater in the ground about one metre deep. The Spanish Red Cross received the warning call 90 minutes prior to the blast, allowing police to cordon off the area before the device exploded at around 0900 local time (0800 GMT). The incident came a day after Spain's supreme court banned Democracia 3 Millones and Askatasuna, two Basque nationalist parties, from participating in March's regional elections in the Basque Country, because of what the court said were their links to ETA. Spain's interior minister has blamed ETA for the attack, which occured at the Campo de Las Naciones trade fair centre. "What ETA has done this morning shows that the Supreme Court did the right thing," Alfredo Rubalcaba, said from the scene of the blast... The blast is the first suspected ETA attack in Madrid since a bomb in December 2006 at the capital's airport, which killed two people and led the government to break off talks with the group. ETA, which stands for Basque Homeland and Freedom in the Basque language, has killed more than 825 people since 1968. The group has recently claimed responsibility for two attacks in December 2008, including the fatal shooting of a Basque businessman linked to the high-speed train project and a car bomb outside a Basque television station.

Alas, the ETA isn’t made up of Moslems, they’re radical Basque separatists.
The Spanish are makin’ a huge mistake. Kinda like the 69,780,563 voters (living, dead, duplicate, misguided, and various combinations of those three) did in November here in the US.

Come on, it is simply that elections are coming. A campaign is done in Spain with bombs. Don’t you remember 3/11?
