Mexican Drug Violence Spills Over Into U.S.

Just as government officials had feared, the drug violence raging in Mexico is spilling over into the United States.

Investigators fear the violence could erupt elsewhere around the country because the Mexican cartels are believed to have set up drug-dealing operations all over the U.S., in such far-flung places as Anchorage, Alaska; Boston; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

"They are capable of doing about anything," said Rusty Payne, a Drug Enforcement Administration spokesman in Washington. "When you are willing to chop heads off, put them in an ice chest and drop them off at a police precinct, or roll a head into a disco, put beheadings on YouTube as a warning," very little is off limits.

In an apartment in Columbiana, Alabama, police found five men with their throats slit in August. They had apparently been tortured with electric shocks before being killed in a murder-for-hire orchestrated by a Mexican drug organization over a drug debt of about $400,000.

In Phoenix, 150 miles (240 kilometers) north of the Mexican border, police have reported a sharp increase in kidnappings and home invasions, with about 350 each year for the last two years....

Authorities in Atlanta are also seeing an increase in drug-related kidnappings tied to Mexican cartels. Agents said they have rarely seen such brutality in the U.S. since the "Miami Vice" years of the 1980s....

State and federal governments have sent millions of dollars to local law enforcement along the Mexican border to help fend off spillover drug crime. But investigators believe Arizona and Atlanta are seeing the worst of the violence because they are major drug distribution hubs thanks to their webs of interstate highways.

In fact, drug officials have dubbed Atlanta "the new Southwest border," said Jack Killorin, a former federal drug agent .

We need a DMZ at the border. Mine it if we have to. Do something for petes sake. All we do is talk, talk, talk. We spend $9 Million a mile on a fence that shouldn’t even cost 1/10 of that. We arrest our own border guards and throw them in prison. We allow Mexicans to sue a ranch owner that is trying to protect his land and country.

Mexican nitwits..............Mideast dumbos......having a contest: "Who is the dumbest of them all?"

Mexico is using the Mideast Dumb Playbook-- Chapter entitled: "How To Play Dumb To Dupe the US Into Pouring Trillions of Tax Dollars Into Your Pockets."

MIDEAST DUMB The US takes raw recruits off the farm, sends them to boot camp for three weeks---they are then ready for battle anywhere in the world. In Iraq, it took several years and trillions of US tax dollars to get them ready to defend their country. DUMB

Conniving Mexican nitwits.........Conniving Mideast dumbos. Too stupid to govern.....but able to sucker the US into laying out billions of tax dollars.

John McCain (R-Arizona) should explain to taxpayers the public financing of the Arizona-Mexico Commission, and the Border Infrastructure Project implemented in collaboration with federal, state and local government agencies........that's OUR tax dollars.

FROM THE ARIZONA-MEXICO COMMISSION WEB SITE http://www.azmc.org/

Welcome to the Arizona-Mexico Commission (AMC) online news and information resource. The Arizona-Mexico Commission is Arizona's premiere cross-border organization.

We are a mission-driven non-profit organization chaired by Arizona's governor, Janet Napolitano. Our mission is to improve the economic well being and quality of life for residents of Arizona by promoting a strong, cooperative relationship with Mexico and Latin America through advocacy, trade, networking and information.

Looking for funding?

Look no further and check out AMC-ASU’s new funding database: Unlocking the gates to grant sponsorship in Arizona!

Visitwww.azgates.org to find funding and grant application resources online. The single information source on Arizona's Border Infrastructure Projects!

Visit www.azbip.org to find streamlined information on infrastructure projects in Arizona's border communities.

"The Border Infrastructure Project database is the single source of information on Arizona’s border infrastructure projects. It tracks each project’s progress along its approval, programming and funding paths and provides the information in a concise and timely way. I hope this is a valuable tool for you and that you will use it often." - Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano

The University of Arizona Office of Economic and Policy Analysis developed the Border Infrastructure Project concept in partnership with the Arizona-Mexico Commission. It is being implemented in collaboration with federal, state and local government agencies. Border communities and stakeholders will be engaged in this project through outreach efforts.

Check this out....Mexico is going to register cell phones. They think that will stop this mess?

[snip]Feb 9 (Reuters) - Mexico will start a national register of mobile phone users that will include fingerprinting all customers in an effort to catch criminals who use the devices to extort money and negotiate kidnapping ransoms.

Under a new law published on Monday and due to be in force in April, mobile phone companies will have a year to build up a database of their clients, complete with fingerprints. The idea would be to match calls and messages to the phones’ owners.

Hundreds of people are kidnapped in Mexico every year and the number of victims is rising sharply as drug gangs, under pressure from an army crackdown, seek new income.

Lawmakers who pushed the bill through Congress last year say there are around 700 criminal bands in Mexico, some of them operating from prison cells, that use cell phones to extract extortion and kidnap ransom payments
