NEW YORK — Women throughout the world — 13,000 at latest count — will be sending Pramod Mutalik a pair of pink panties for Valentine's Day. But these undies won't make his heart go pitty-pat.

Mutalik is the leader of Sri Ram Sena (Lord Ram’s Army) — an extreme right-wing organization in India that purports to be the “custodians of Indian Culture.”

Members of Mutalik's group are suspected of being behind a widely publicized incident last month in which a group of men brutally attacked women in a bar in the southern city of Mangalore — beating them, and kicking them when they fell to the ground. Mutalik was arrested in the attack, but he was released on bail.

Mutalik’s retort: Saris as return gift

11 Feb 2009, 0326 hrs IST, TNN

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Bangalore/Mutaliks_retort_Saris_as_return_gift/articleshow/4109302.cms

BANGALORE/HUBLI: RHS president Pramod Mutalik is ready with his return gift. It will be saris as gifts to women who plan to present
him with pink chaddis as a campaign against his opposition to celebration of V-Day. Mutalik told TOI that RHS’s Mahila Sena had already collected 150 saris. “The move of some women to present pink chaddis reflects their mindset.’’

A consortium of ‘Pub-Going, Loose and Forward Women’ has decided to courier pink chaddis to Sri Rama Sene offices. “Instead of speaking at such baser levels on the issue of Indian culture I have raised, it will be better for them to debate the issue at the ideological level. I’m prepared for that. Let there be a discussion across the table,’’ he said.

Mutalik said he will be in Belgaum and Dharwad on Valentine’s Day. But his men will be snooping around the state to look for couples courting. Perhaps, realizing that getting someone forcibly married attracts legal action, he said: “We will hand over the couples to their parents or to the police.’’

Yeah 2008 was a terrible year for Christians in India .Too many churches destroyed and many lives were lost .

I remember one day I removed the crucifix from my neck before heading out to the university .

Not Muslim if the name translates as Lord Ram’s Army.

Right wing is bad or evil. Left wing is caring, considerate and kind. Don't you know anything?

More like the Hindu version of The Lord’s Resistant Army, or the NLFT.

“The NLFT has warned members of the tribal community that they may be attacked if they do not accept its Christian agenda.”

Right wing varies from country to country, although it is usually centered around the preservation of the historical culture of the nation involved. This particular nutbar would be considered right wing in India because his intent is to preserve the traditional Hindu culture in India. Left wingers are almost never nationalists, in any country.

In general, all Indian parties are left wing. The left most is Communist and they have the word Communist in their name. Then you have the Congress Party which consists of crypto-Communists. The Congress Party consists of the successors of their first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru who was a close friend of Stalin and implemented the Soviet model of economy as envisioned by Lenin in India. So you have government controlling the “commanding heights” of the economy. Nehru was also the homosexual partner of Mountbatten which is in part the reason that he was handpicked as the successor to the British without any elections being conducted. Then you have what you call the right wing Hindus but they have no clue about economics and have no interest in economic theories although instinctively they support small businessmen. This they do because of their instinctive hatred of Communists. The reason they are called right wing is that they oppose Muslims and the media in India is pro-Communist. In India, attacks by Muslims are not taken lying down. It is old-world style retaliation.

I remember one day I removed the crucifix from my neck before heading out to the university .

I have traveled to India and even lived for extended periods there. I wouldn't trust Indian Christians. Most of their stories are fabricated in order to get our money. I used to support our church's activities, but after traveling to India, I realized that Indian churches come up with stories of persecution and feed them to us in order to rip us off of our money. There is an entire industry there which claims that so many churches were burnt down this year. If you ask them to show you the remnants of the church, they will claim that these were really small wooden shacks which were 10 ft by 10 ft in size and they were completely burnt down. I have faced so much fraud from Indian Christians that I have lost all sympathy for them. India is a country where buildings are made with brick and mortar and this story about wooden churches of a very small size when asked for evidence doesn't wash.
