A female suicide bomber with explosives hidden under flowing black garments blew herself up in a crowd of Shiite pilgrims including many women and children south of Baghdad on Friday, killing at least 30 people and injuring dozens more, according to initial reports from Iraqi security officials.

The suicide bomber had apparently been aiming to pass through the center of Abu Jasim village in al-Musaib, a popular resting place for pilgrims, a local police official said.
When she could not get past a checkpoint just outside the village, the attacker went to a tent that had been set up for women and children to rest and set off the explosives, said the police official, who insisted on anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about security matters.

SNIPPET: “Baghdad (AP) - A female suicide bomber struck a tent filled with women and children resting during a pilgrimage south of Baghdad on Friday, killing 40 people and wounding about 80 in the deadliest of three straight days of attacks against Shiite worshippers.
The grisly assault, which also appeared to be the deadliest in Iraq this year, demonstrates the determination of some extremists to re-ignite sectarian warfare. It also underscores how fragile security remains here, even as the U.S. turns over more responsibility to the Iraqis.
Witnesses said many of the injured were hurt in a stampede as terrified survivors - most of them poor Shiites exhausted after days of walking - scrambled away from the tent in terror.”
She was probably drugged. Al Qaeda finds it necessary to pull the occasional terrorist act here still, but they've run out of willing homicide bombers. They've resorted to using women...either those with severe mental retardation or they durg them up. Often, it's a combination of the two.

You are exactly correct. The Israelis hit a school in Gaza that Hamas is hiding out in behind the children and the world condemns them. Yet one Muslim kills a tent full of women and children and..........silence.............
This used to be all blamed on Bush/Cheney/the “illegal” war. But now that Obama is in power, they can only blame Bush for a little longer, then even the media will have to ask Obama what he thinks about Muslims killing Muslims. I’ll be waiting for that interview.
