Knox legislators join effort that seeks Obama's birth certificate

Two Knox County legislators have joined House Republican Caucus Chairman Glen Casada in signing up as supporters of a lawsuit trying to force President Barack Obama to turn over a copy of his birth certificate.

State Reps. Stacey Campfield of Knoxville and Frank Niceley of Strawberry Plains say they agreed to be listed as plaintiffs in hopes of resolving contentions that Obama may actually have been born outside of the United States, which would mean he cannot serve as president under a provision of the U.S. Constitution.

Casada and Rep. Eric Swafford, R-Pikeville, also acknowledged that they will back the Defend Our Freedoms Foundation in the lawsuit, one of several expected to be filed. The U.S. Supreme Court already has refused to hear one such lawsuit, and Democratic legislators suggest the whole thing is an unfounded conspiracy theory.

"I want to end the controversy," Campfield said. "Obama claims he wants to be a very open person, and this is the perfect way to show that - by turning over the birth certificate to get over all the questions and concerns."

Obama's campaign last year provided copies of a certificate to various media outlets indicating the president was born in Hawaii, but Campfield said there were questions about whether the document was "a certification, not a certificate - and there's a difference."

It's neither but a forgery.

Sadly, this will go nowhere I fear. There is no mood in the Supreme Court to do the right thing. Instead they will do what is expedient and give America what the majority wanted, which was any Democrat president who wasn’t George W Bush. Bonus points if the new president were either the first black or the first female POTUS.

No other considerations matter.

And now you have the first foreign sorta-black socialist POTUS in America’s history: with so many “firsts”, can’t you be satisfied with that???

(Such ingratitude!)

It’s time that John McCain joined this particular fight. He was the man with the most to lose—and if there is anybody with ‘standing’ in this situation, it’s McCain.

I have never heard of this “U.S. Constitution”.

I think you’re right. And I think the chances of McCain doing this are about nil. The more I contemplate your election process and the events leading up to Obama’s election, the more I have to wonder whether it was always McCain’s intention to ensure a Democrat candidate sat in the Oval Office.

In other words, the fix was in, and always had been.

Nope. Now we want the first foreign sorta-black socialist POTUS in America’s history forced to resign inside the first six months of his administration.

Even more firsts! And I expect that next you’ll be wanting him to also be the first ex-president to do hard gaol time for election fraud and racketeering!

Jeez, there’s no pleasing some people! (BIG GRIN!)

We’ll never see Zero or any other president or former president in cuffs. A Nixon scenario is far more likely but I suspect they would try to avoid embarrassment by having him step down for health or personal reasons.

Democrats who call for the conviction of Bush are just acting in political theatre and know it. Their party isn’t going to open that door because once it’s open, it can’t be closed.

Well, that would be nice - but not a requirement. Just out of there would be good.

He would have to step down for personal reasons...throwing him out after showing the birth certificate would invalidate laws and bring a debacle to the Democrats. It would never get the far.

There are a lot of weird addresses with variations of Barack’s name that was posted last night...voter fraud...or possible bank account issues come to mind.

Had my taxes done last week. I owe more this year than all my previous filings put together + several hundred $’s. If I'm considered rich, we're in bigger trouble than anyone can imagine. I hope this extra money I have to pay goes toward those rats Pelosi has a passion for in the Bay area. I hope some of it goes for those golf carts that is going to stimulate the lobby group that pushed it. I hope some of it goes to the McDonalds working 0 worshiper that can't believe he doesn't have better benefits in his minimum wage job. I hope some of it goes to the black woman in Florida who has a history of telling everyone how unfair life has treated her. She got a kiss from the h0ly 0ne and a house to live in for nothing. She has worked hard for what she has got. I hope none of my money goes to those colleges that allow faith based activities on their property. I hope some of my money goes to the lawyers fighting to keep my President's secrets of his past safe. I hope they will use some of money to build a new life for Gitmo victims that will be released because they have a right to terrorize my people and are just being held in deploreable conditions despite the fact they observe a peace loving religion. I hope some of it goes to the railway Reid needs to shuttle people from Vegas to Disney World. I'm glad black construction workers will benefit from my money rather than white ones. After all, they are more important because of the color of their skin. It is my patriotic duty to pay taxes like VP Biden told me and everyone else. Although, I feel folks that are nominated for cabinet positions in the 0 administration that don't pay their taxes like me are too important to be bothered because they have contributed in other ways that are much more vital to our nation than my service in the US Army.

I feel like the woman in the white suit that mouthed “I love you Barrak” in Florida. I think all the states that are introducing legislation on State-based initiatives towards reforming the American government, a constitutional republic against an oppressive Fed. govt. are just down right mean and uninformed. How can a state possibly think they can “explicitly restrict the power to confiscate firearms and ammunitions in an emergency.” Apparently, these backwoods people don't realize that advanced governments like most of Europe, the USSR, Cuba, North Korea and the misunderstood Chavez have realized the right of a citizen with a gun is a threat to the government that knows what is best for the masses.

I think the graffiti bandit that was recently arrested and is famous for his red and blue communist like portrait of hope and change that 0bama represents is being persecuted just like those progressives at Gitmo. 0bama is a citizen of the world! George Soros has worked so hard to put in the position he is in and should be enough for anyone to realize he is too important to fail. It shouldn't matter if he is a natural born citizen of the United States of America. The important thing is, 0bama is on a higher level than all of us and knows what is best. After all, he is a citizen of the world.

If I were living in the dark ages of a few years ago and hadn't seen the light according to 0bama, I'd probably say something stupid like “My powder is dry” or “Locked and loaded” “Bring it on!” I only wish I had more to give if I didn't have a job that is considered ordinary. http://www.therightsideoflife.com/?page_id=1909

I’ve wondered the same thing. It is curious that when his eligibility was challenged he did not challenge The Ones. Instead he produced his BC and went on his merry way to lose the election. As the one person we know to have standing, he needs to be challenged to bring a suit or join one the many already out there. If he declines, it will be safe to assume that he is part of the effort to bring down this country. It is now very obvious, and becoming more so each passing day, that destroying this country is the goal of many in power. I just wonder how many and who? I loved George Bush and defended him to BDS friends and relatives on many occasions. Now I find myself wondering if he was part of this debacle. He must have known that there were challenges to Obama’s elegibility, yet he graciously handed him the reins of power. I hope I’m wrong but one has to wonder.

I think in President George W Bush’s case it was probably an “aw buggerit!” response. The Dems had been rotten to him for 8 years, and more than a few of the GOP had turned on him, and then he was getting blamed for the financial meltdown that actually belonged to the Dems — he probably felt sick and tired of it all and couldn’t wait to be The Former President: on the basis that the Nation gets the government it deserves.

An entirely human reaction and perfectly understandable under the circumstances.
