Rod Blagojevich's brother asked Roland Burris for up to $10,000 in campaign donations before Burris was appointed to the U.S. Senate by then-Gov. Blagojevich of Illinois, a Burris spokesman told FOX News.
Sen. Burris didn't make the donation but failed to disclose the request under oath before an Illinois House impeachment panel.
Now state House Republicans say they want Burris investigated for perjury.
The Chicago Sun-Times first reported on its web site Saturday that Burris made the disclosure in a new affidavit sent to the head of the state committee that recommmended Blagojevich be removed from office.
According to the nwespaper, the affidavit is dated Feb. 5 -- three weeks after Burris was sworn in to fill President Obama's former Senate seat.
Burris says he sent the affidavit to Illinois House majority Leader Barbara Flynn Currie when he realized his testimony before the committee wasn't complete.

Amazing, isn't it?
How did Burris even get the seat if he didn’t cough up the cash?
What might have happened if Burris had disclosed this (and people found out about it) before he was appointed by Blagojevich to the U.S. Senate?
The price on Obama’s former senate seat sure did drop . . .dropped down to $10,000. Fire sale price.
How much did obozo’s COS Rahm Immanuel offer during his many talks w/Blago?
Off to jail you go, Bro.
Another lying democrat. He should be a model Senator.
Another lying democrat. He should be a model Senator.
Its like that whole place is unraveling. Hope it takes Barack with it.
Wouldn't they do better to put his name in to Obama for the open cabinet position of Secretary of Commerce? This revelation makes him totally qualified for the position!
Maybe Blago set him up on a lay-away plan...
I think he’s too dumb to realize he’s incrimanated himself...lol.
Excerpts from the transcript:
Fitzgerald: "In the governor words -- governor's words, quote, 'Fire all those bleeping people. Get them the bleep out of there. And get us some editorial support', close quote. And the bleeps are not really bleeps."
Fitzgerald: "A month or so ago a $1.8 billion tollway project was announced. While that tollway project was being announced, Governor Blagojevich was privately seeking to have a person benefiting from that contract raise $100,000 in contributions, and privately the government (sic) said, 'I could have made a larger announcement but wanted to see how they would perform by the end of the year. If they don't perform, bleep 'em.' That's a quote. And the word 'bleep' was not the word he used."
Fitzgerald: "The governor's own words describing the Senate seat, quote, 'It's a bleeping valuable thing -- thing. You just don't give it away for nothing', close quote."
Fitzgerald: "Another quote, 'I've got this thing, and it's bleeping golden. And I'm just not giving it up for bleeping nothing. I'm not going to do it, and I can always use it; I can parachute me there,' quote. Those are his words, not our characterization, other than with regard to the bleep."
Fitzgerald: "The tapes reveal that Governor Blagojevich wanted a number of things in exchange for making the appointment to the Senate seat -- an appointment as secretary of health and human services or an ambassadorship, an appointment to a private foundation, a higher paying job for his wife or campaign contributions."
"Mrs. Blago, the former Patti Mell, won the hearts of old-school thugs everywhere with her f-word-filled rants captured on FBI wiretaps, some of which were colorfully detailed in the criminal complaint against her hubby..." --Michelle Malkin, December 17, 2008
...funny how news like this hits on the weekend
..and after the vote
Being comfortably retired, I'll volunteer to supply the rope...
NEW rope, so they won't complain...

PROFILE: BOBBY RUSH:
* Democratic Member of Congress
* Member of the radical Progressive Caucus
* In 1968, went AWOL from the U.S. Army
* Co-founder of the Illinois branch of the Black Panther Party
* In 1969, served six months in jail for an illegal weapons conviction
* Advocates reparations for African Americans
"Bobby Rush has described his involvement with the Black Panthers as part of his maturation process, as a youthful indiscretion that he abandoned immediately after Hampton's death. He described his role mostly as running the Black Panther Party's Free Breakfast for Children program.
But Bobby Rush served six months in jail for a 1969 illegal weapons conviction and, even after his release, in 1971 his comrades were still describing him as the 'Deputy Minister of Defense' for the Black Panther Party in Illinois. In 1992 the socialist magazine In These Times praised fledgling congressional candidate Rush, writing that he 'has continued to support progressive policies and has never disavowed his Panther past...."

From the article: REVOLUTIONARY HEROES
"On May 1st, May Day , the day of the gigantic Free Huey rally, two of Alioto's top executioners vamped on the brothers from the Brown Community who were attending to their own affairs. These brothers, who are endowed with the revolutionary spirit of the Black Panther Party defended themselves from the racist pig gestapo.
Pig Joseph Brodnik received his just reward with a big hole in the chest. Pig Paul McGoran got his in the mouth which was not quite enough to off him.
The revolutionary brothers escaped the huge swarm of pigs with dogs, mace, tanks and helicopters, proving once again that "the spirit of the people is greater than the man's technology."
To these brothers the revolutionary people of racist America want to say, by your revolutionary deed you are heroes, and that you are always welcome to our camp."

NEW rope, so they won't complain...
I'll pay for half the cost of the new rope, on condition that Chris Dodd be the first to swing from it.
After a proper trial and conviction of course.
Yee haw! Now that Burris has admitted he’s a liar (or at least a convenience truth-teller) maybe an R or at least a halfway competent D will have a chance when his seat is up in 2 years.
In the meantime I hope the prosecute the SOB for perjury.
Hey Roland, yer “tainted” now!
He knows it’s safe to come out in the open now.
I agree....dumb as a stump.
Until he is replaced by the venerable "Al Franken" as the #1 model of virtue of government representation.
Didn’t Disclose This Under Oath? He’s a Democrat! What the hell does an oath mean to a Democrat!?
He's a faithful democrat.
Why is it news that he's dumb as a stump?
I guess the price of Senate Seats is deflating badly. Mark Warner spent $M and had to run twice to get his. Imagine how bad he must feel after Burris only had to cough up $10K.
Then Kerry must immediately follow Kennedy, I owe it to some Marine brothers I loved dearly.
Then Durbin, then Schumer, then Boxer, then Reid, then "Leaky" Leahy, then "Specs" Levin, then Boxer, then Wyden......then, let the mob have their way with the rest..
My goodness, not ANOTHER Democrat who broke the law??!!
GASP! (as if...)
Burris is a doorjamb. Run, Ditka, run!
Wonder if Roland will carve any of this into his ever-expanding mausoleum.
He’s a member of a known “victim class” and a Democrat nothing will happen.
Nothing nutty about that statement.
Personally I am disgusted by the price put on this seat. It should be worth a lot more than that.
"Why didn't I report this shake-down? ...Next Question Pls."
And then he failed to notifiy the FBI of the attempted BRIBE by a sitting Democrat Governor!
Beats me, but we do know that Rahmbo was all over the talk shows from the moment of his appointment as COS until Blago blew up. Emanuel then disappeared until the day before the inauguration.
Emanuel is neck deep in this, which we can only hope comes out during Blago's federal trial.
Burris says he sent the affidavit to Illinois House majority Leader Barbara Flynn Currie when he realized his testimony before the committee wasn't complete.Uh-huh. And Global Warming ate my homework.
I'm suuuuure that since its now been released that Patrick Fitzgerald has him ON TAPE talking with Blago's brother about said '$10,000 campaign donations' had nothing to do with this 'realization' by Burris. And not one phone call, but four separate times.
Federal Prisons are gonna get really crowded with IL pols.
“How did Burris even get the seat if he didnt cough up the cash?”
I was wondering the same thing. And if Burris was appointed fraudulently, it’s too bad that his vote on the porkulus bill can’t be invalidated.
That's easy..........Burris let Blago's wife play Butt Bingo with him.
Am I the only one wondering what ‘Scooter Libby’ thinks about the Burris revelations?
Fitzmas didn’t have nearly so solid a case against Scooter...
Republicans should refuse to sit in session with him. PERIOD.
Based on his press conference today, he'd be lucky to know what the word meant. It was like watching a ten year old.
I really think he was surprised that the press did not simply buy the oily, illogical explanation in the statement crafted by his not-too bright lawyer/bouncer standing next to him. He just expected them to scribble it down, say, "Oh, okay," and scurry off to file their stories. End of issue, and he gets to go back to the life he earned and deserves and, dammit, paid for.
For the first couple of rounds, he stuck to the talking points but just couldn't help himself. He was tying himself in knots, dancing on the head of a pin in an impassioned mazurka as to how a conversation about the appointment is not the same as a conversation about the senate seat. It was hilarious and painful at the same time.
Favorite part was when the lawyer refused to answer a question, saying something to the effect of he couldn't answer at that time. Asked why that was, he snapped, "Because I said so."
Even some Dems in ILL. asked for a spec ial vote to replace Obama. Now the folks in ILL have another doofus to contend with for 6 years. This state has Durbin and Burris and the faux Messiah, what a trifecta. And the dolts keep electing these liberal Dems so they can be taxed and regulated. What geniuses.

I am impressed by your comments. Thank you for correcting my spelling, also. I knew it didn’t look right and was rushing. I especially like that you used the word ‘mazurka.’ I haven’t seen or heard that in a long time:)
Re Burris: Dummy is as dummy does.
Thanks. I wouldn’t know a mazurka from a samba. But it just popped into my head and the word had the right frenetic sound to it. So of course, your comment made me look it up (in case I’m ever on Jeopardy). So if the final question involves a mazurka, I’ll owe you.
