KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — An out-of-work truck driver smiled Monday as he pleaded guilty to killing two people and wounding six others at a Tennessee church last summer because he considered the liberal church "a den of un-American vipers."

Looks like the making of Republicans and conservatives as terrorists.

It is not likely that you would find either conservatives or Republicans at a Unitarian Church.

Soon to be a Hollywood movie with the truck driver portrayed as having Nazi/Skinhead/Christian fundamentalist leanings, and out of work because of the BushEconomy.

“When he came into the courtroom, he had a look of sheer evil on his face. He really did. Evil as well as arrogance,” said Vicki Masters, who directed the children’s play.

Yes, Vicki, there is sheer evil in this world. The guy doesn’t look sorry in the slightest. He looks like he just won a hand in poker.

>>Assistant District Attorney Leslie Nassios said Adkisson gave a statement to police and left a suicide note. They showed he planned the attack on the church, where his ex-wife was once a member, because he hated the church’s liberal politics and Democrats, whom he believed “were responsible for his woes.”<<

This is serious. I am not kidding. I worked Psych and I know that some people look normal and are not. The untreated can snap at anytime.

As a group, Christian conservatives are being pushed to the edge. Those who are unstable but handle it well when things are okay, may break under the pressure.

I fear we will be seeing more of this over the next few months.

"John Bohstedt, one of the church members who tackled Adkisson, said he didn't believe Adkisson was insane, but was manipulated by rhetoric aimed at liberals.

"Unbalanced, yes. Bitter, yes. Evil, yes. Insane, not in our ordinary use of the word," Bohstedt said."

This is where this Bohstedt guy said it wasn't the killer, but others who manipulated him ~ that he was an agent of a conspiracy to kill Leftwingtards.

This is one of the problems with the Unitarian-Universalists theology ~ it's never the killer, it's always somebody else. They refuse to blame the guilty, but are always more than happy to blame the innocent.

They don't blame the mothers for their problems, but instead blame the baby they advocate she abort.

They are truly dangerous people.

"There are a lot of people who hate liberals, and if we stir that around in the pot and on the airwaves, eventually there will be people (like Adkisson) ... who get infected by the violent rhetoric and put it into violent action," he said.

Bohstedt said he was worried about future violence: "Do you think there are other Jim Adkissons out there listening to hate speech? I do."

Trying to blame talk radio most likely. But I listen to a lot of talk radio and don't hear any violent rhetoric. I have never heard anyone suggesting we go shoot liberals.

I prefer the death penalty for this sort of thing, but maybe the judged figured that a 58 year-old wasn’t a good bet to ever get executed. The appeals process could take a decade, at which point he’s 68, and maybe by then would be in such bad health that his lawyers could claim he was no longer aware of what was going on, which would require another decade of appeals, at which point he probably would be dead and the state would have wasted millions in legal fees.

I wish you could execute guys like this, but I can’t blame the judge in this case.

“The Unitarian Universalist church promotes progressive social work including advocacy of women and gay rights.”

OK, let’s get this straight. I call BS that this is a Christian church. Unitarian Universalist? Oh really. Could that be more...gay? I mean more liberal? That’s just a bunch of people pretending to be Christians so they can do the secualar Christmas fun and get married in a church. And “promotes progressive social work” that just means promotes the destruction of the traditional family, leading to the kind of social meltdown we are all NOT enjoying. And “advocacy of women” ,no brainer, that’s just pro-abortion speak. And don’t get me started on the misuse of the word “gay”. Gay is a nice happy word. An old fashioned fine word. What they are promoting is homosexuality. There. Fixed it.

And if they cannot handle the pressure and break, they need to be labeled as a terrorist and treated accordingly.

>>And if they cannot handle the pressure and break, they need to be labeled as a terrorist and treated accordingly.<<

I don’t know that I would label them a terrorist but I don’t think that “sick” is an excuse. They should get the punishment that befits the crime.

I think that labeling people who commit domestic crimes “terrorists” minimizes those who, as a group, are looking to kill us because of our country or religion. We need to find a stronger name for people who are doing that or a name for people like this type of terrorism. This guy wasn’t looking to kill all Unitarians, just this church. While still horrendous, it is not a threat to people outside that church.

Judges can't give people the death penalty after a change of plea. There has to be a trial. And at his age, it is probably true that he would have died in prison before ever being executed, if the courts didn't overturn the death penalty sentence in this case. Allowing him to plead and accept a life sentence without the possibility of parole probably saved the taxpayers millions. Now this smug sicko will have to sit in prison for the rest of his life and think about what he has done. He's not going to like it. People in prison definitely won't be conservative enough for his tastes. Somebody might kill him just for being a jerk.

I do not care what religion he is of what his political outlook may be. If a person shoots people while they are in their worship, he is a terrorist. He is no different than Muslims who attack innocents in Israel and Iraq.

If he kills people for religions or political reasons, he is a terrorist.

Muslim, Christian or Jewish, if you murder others to advance your cause, you are a terrorist.

But apparently, some people appear to condone terrorism when a person murders innocents at the Unitarian Church.

So, what if he murdered people at a Catholic Church, would he be a terrorist?

And if he were Muslim and murdered people at a Synagogue, would he be a terrorist?
