USF professor on leave after he is captured taking a bike from campus ( VIDEO )

A University of South Florida dean is being investigated after surveillance video captured him taking a red bike from the loading dock of the Johnnie B. Byrd, Sr., Alzheimer's Center and Research Institute.

Dr. Abdul Rao, senior associate vice president for research at USF College of Medicine, said he took the bike on Monday to help a "nearly homeless'' friend and intended no harm.

Video of the theft has been posted on YouTube.

Rao, who joined USF in 2006 ,draws a $269,280 salary plus four administrative stipends of $115,000.

Why do all liberals define "compassion" as being compassionate with other people's money? Why can't they just find it within themselves to do the giving with their own money?

My two favorite examples of this:

1) Rich hollywoodians who throw parties to raise funds. Raise funds!?!?! They're Rich! So these people throw a huge party to raise 5 or 10 million dollars, they themselves donate a few hundred thousand, and then get others to donate it. Then they go on TV and make themselves feel good; pat themselves on the back, and etc.

Why not just donate the 5 or 10 mil themselves and be done with it?

2) Tax increasing politicians who advocate tax increases but then do everything they can(including tax evasion) to shield their own monies from the very tax increases they have imposed. Offshore accounts, built in tax loopholes, even simply just not paying the taxes. Nothing is too unreasonable.

No wonder tuition is so high! Here’s a poor fella trying to get by on a measly $400,000 a year (or so) and having to steal bikes on the side just to make ends meet. Parents — get ready for a hike!

this one is just too easy.

So this so called doctor, takes a bike from the Alzheimer’s Center and Research Institute? Let me guess - he just forgot who he was and where he was and thought the bike was his?

But, but .... the story says he "meant no harm."

Face it, liberals are just better people than we. We ALWAYS mean harm, they never do, except harm to those with whom they disagree or who have something they want but don't want to pay for.

Hey, it’s okay. The person whose bike was stolen didn’t need it as much as his homeless friend.

Where’s your compassion, people? /s off

I’d like to point out that the libs should love the student who bikes to school rather than “pollute” with a car.

Libs eating their own.

His crime was motivated by “compassion”.
So, by their standards, no crime was committed.
And how can one be “almost homeless”? You either are or aren’t. That would be like being “a little bit pregnant”.

Why do all liberals criminals define "compassion" as being compassionate with other people's money?

Fixed it.

It gives them legitimacy...so much...that mushy-headed thinkers...benefactors of their criminality can put them on a pedestal or vote for them.

"Earlier this week I gave a man who does odd jobs for me permission to use a bicycle that was parked at the center.

I love this. I gave someone permission to use something that didn't belong to me. Not only did I give him permission, but I drove him to where the bicycle was, and assisted him in "borrowing" it. Now granted, it wasn't mine, but that's ok.

This is my favorite comment though:
You are all missing the plight of the other victim. What about the owner of the blue bike?? They were obviously going to take that one first and then they put it back. The blue bike's owner has to live with the public humiliation of having a bike that isn't worth stealing!

“Rao said in an interview today that he allowed a man who does yardwork for him to take the bike so that he could go to the DMV to replace a lost Florida ID.”

This guy is so compassionate that he never thought of loaning/giving the guy cabfare/busfare? How about giving him a ride to the DMV? Instead he helps him steal a bike from a grad student. Very generous with other peoples property but not his own.

Actually, if you look at the timestamp on the video, the "borrowing" took place at around 8:45 PM. Is the DMV open that late?

plus four administrative stipends of $115,000.

This is vague. Does it mean stipends collectively worth $115,000, or four stipends worth $115,000 which would be $460,000 in stipends? I suspect it is the latter and that's why it was made so vague.

Typical liberal Democrat: what's mine is mine and what's yours is mine.

He makes almost a half-million a year in salary and 'stipends' and chooses to steal a bike for his "friend" who is practically homeless.

Why not go to WalMart and buy him a $50 bike?

Ah, crap. Everybody knows he's lying and everyone knows the USF administration will let him off.

There are plenty of Americans who believe that if they commit a crime, it's not really wrong. 'Compassionate' theft is what keeps the congress busy. He cant be bothered to just buy the guy a bike, even though he can easily afford it. he has to force someone else to pay for his 'charity'. Classic sociopathic collectivist thought.

This compassionate comrade was only liberating a bike from a bourgeois who had little need of it, and redistributing it to another worker who had great need of it. Is this not the way of change, citizens? Is not the goal of change equality and fairness for all citizens? How can we condemn this man who clearly embodies Marx?

PS- Ignore the capitalist lies about his $400K salary, this is typical propaganda from the West. Besides this brave comrade would not consider supporting a capitalist bike company when one can simply be liberated.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need!

I wonder. Could there be more to this incident? I think so.

The video shows a passenger in the front seat, but the tape doesn’t show anyone exiting the passenger side of the car on the tape. Bearded man takes bike. Someone else in the car? They purposely went to this location to steal the bike. I guess I’d like the bearded guy checked out.

Is this Sami’s school? I don’t trust what goes on in South Florida.

The Feds should cap University employee salary and bonuses to $150,000 (\sarc, sort of)

Better get used to it. If this administration has any thing to do with it, within a year or two, tht's all you'll be able to own; because if you have anything worth stealing, they'll steal it.

The good doctor was probably friends with the other terriost that was at USF. Look at his resume.

After earning his medical degree from Dow Medical University, Karachi, Pakistan, in 1983, Dr. Rao completed his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery. In 1987 he joined the Department of Physiology, Boston University School of Medicine and graduated in 1989 with a M.A., in Physiology. After completing a year of post-doctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Neurology, Harvard Medical School, he joined the Nuffield Department of Surgery, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK, as a Clinical Instructor from 1990-1993. He graduated from the University of Oxford with a D.Phil., (Doctor of Philosophy) in Transplantation Immunology in 1993.

There’s more to the Muzzie/Commie Dr. story, evidently he was being compassionate to his friendly cocaine dealer:
Take Abdul Rao, a University of South Florida vice president who makes $384,280 and owns a five-bedroom home assessed at $441,738. Pair him with Victor Waiters, a Miami handyman who travels to Tampa to do handyman work.
Waiters has been arrested 29 times since 1988, including 2005 convictions for cocaine possession and resisting an officer, reports the St. Petersburg Times.
Now the professor is under investigation for helping the handyman steal a $100 bike from a student at USF.
It’s on video. They drive to a research center and look over some parked bikes. The handyman takes one bike for a test ride and rejects it. He settles for another and walks it down the center’s loading dock ramp. Then the minivan drives away.
Now, about Rao, who claims a lack of judgement.
A thief or a nutty professor?

If the professor gave the homeless man "permission" to take the bike, then the professor is the thief and the homeless man had permission to use the bike.

Perfectly stated in the gobbledegook language of American academia.
