The Cloward/Piven Strategy of Economic Recovery
American Thinker ^ | February 7, 2009 | Nancy Coppock

Posted on 02/16/2009 11:58:22 AM PST by Stayfree

Using borrowed money for a band-aid bailout of the economy should seem backwards to most people. However, it likely is a planned strategy to promote radical change. Those naively believing that President Obama is simply rewarding his far-left base, and will then move to the political center, must wise up...

Obama adheres to the Saul Alinksy Rules for Radicals method of politics (Alinksy-Ayers-Obama), which teaches the dark art of destroying political adversaries. However, that text reveals only one front in the radical left's war against America. The Cloward/Piven Strategy is another method employed by the radical Left to create and manage crisis. This strategy explains Rahm Emanuel's ominous statement, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste."

At the risk of having my tin-foil hat blown off, since the election, the obvious moves by the Democrats and the lunatic left to permanently grab power via controlling the census results, huge sums of money to Acorn, the attempts to bring back an even stronger version of the fairness doctrine, etc. and the fact that the recession largely started with Democratic pressure on Fannie May, Freddie Mac and the banks to give more loans to the disadvantaged (a moronic idea at best) does seem like a plan take over our society with socialism to me!

Clear logic doesn’t bespeak a tinfoil hat... Sounds to me like you are right on the mark.

This “stimulus” package appears to be an attempt to gain permanent power of the United States by simply selling the country into slavery.

I’m donning my tinfoil hat too. It seems everything is too deliberate, too fast and it would seem to me that the goal is to tear us down to rebuild in the way they way. Socialism/Communism.

People need to remember, Obama was a MEMBER of the “Socialist Party” before he became a Democrat. So this at least WAS his affiliation at one time and once he noticed it wasn’t getting him anyway, he switched to the closest party.

I’ve always said that the Cloward/Pivin Strategy explains the current insanity we see today.

Everyone should have a ‘counter attack’ plan as to how to preserve your ‘wealth’ from the ‘progressives’.
I imagine a ‘Robin Hood’ group of CPA’s and Tax Attorneys that would help out.
My goal is to starve the ‘Beast’.

And how about that September 15th run on money market funds to the tune of $550 billion in an hour or two?

“At the risk of having my tin-foil hat blown off,....”

That’s unfortunate that all too many are intimidated by the thought that it’s “Tin-foil” to think “conspiracy”.

Some “Conspiracies” are idiotic contrivances of borderline insanity, but Alynskism, and Cloward-Pivenism are very very real. Documented, and functioning systems that have been at work for considerable time, only recently tossing off the cloak to expose themselves.

Obama is a figurehead for that movement welcomed and endorsed by the CPUSA. Approximately 70 members of the House are members of the “Progressive Caucus” which is related.

We must all let our thoughts on the matter loose as it is reality. We mustn’t hide in fear of discussing what is real simply because it sounds like some nutcase conspiracy. Alynskism, and Cloward/Pivenism nutcase conspiracies are unfortunately very real.

Their goal is to overthrow capitalism by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands. The created crisis provides the impetus to bring about radical political change.

If Obama and the Democrats succeed such that the Federal Government essentially defaults, the radical political change won't be Socialist nirvana, but rather States individually or in groups seceding. It is perhaps to prevent this that Obama's need arises for an especially powerful, strong and well-funded Civilian National Security Force .

I’ve come to this same conclusion even before I heard about this Cloward/Piven strategy the other day.

Just think if supporters stopped Bush from screwing up, none of this would be happening.

Easy to say, hard to do. What will you do...

I normally am upbeat about our nation, but the instantaneous remaking of our great land by these communists scares me to death and I don't see any way out.

von Clausewitz: "war is a continuation of state policy by other means."

Well, we live in a world where the US is untouchable through military action. Iraq had a huge, modern mechanized force. We beat them in days. Al Qaeda knew all about terrorism and low-intensity fighting. It took us a while, but we found a way to knock them out and win the war. Doesn't matter how the enemy wants to fight us -- we will win.

And so: The state policy of our enemies must still continue, but by means other than war. What is to be done? The answer is "Economic sabotage".

I often think this was the Islamists end-game, ie, that internal dissension would destroy the nation after an attack the size and scope of 9/11. I suspect they knew the nation was deeply divided between weak liberalism and dying conservatism and the internal schism resulting from an attack would finish us off.

Just think if supporters stopped Bush from screwing up, none of this would be happening.

I used to defend Bush in arguments around the world, from Edinburgh to Macau. I wanted to trust a strongly pro-life champion.+

Some are asking, "If Obama were trying to destroy this nation, how would he act?" And what he is doing appears to be just that. His "stimulus" bill was really diabolically clever in the way it accomplishes several goals at once: It buys votes and political favors, empowers leftist groups like ACORN, but maybe its most useful function is to throw a doggie treat to the masses to distract them and prepare for the next "bailout" swindle benefiting foreign investors.

And then I ask myself, "If Bush had wanted Obama to gain power, how would he have acted?" He did not seem to mind that his amnesty push divided the R party. How long did it take Bush to veto anything, and how much debt accumulated? Then the Paulson bailout. If I were Obama, I would be very grateful for the political opportunities. I am sorry I was not prescient enough to oppose Bush sooner.
