When the States get serious about abolishing the 17th Amendment I'll believe they're serious about State sovereignty.

The 16th Amendment needs to be repealed as well. Money which should rightfully remain in the state where it is earned is being sent to DC. Federal Senators and Representatives must them bow to the federal government in order to “get back” that money.

The founders intended that our national officials would represent their states in matters of national concern. Not that they would go to DC to play the you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.

It makes it nearly impossible to hold them accountable for their wasteful and unconstitutional spending when there are 435 of them. At the state level, the citizens of the state, unhappy with the way their money is being used, would be more likely to demand accountability.
